Intro Preview

Edit - new video at:

Title says it all, once the battle scene is complete (I should also note that it won't start as abruptly as it appears in the video) there will still be another scene or 2 left though not as long to watch or make as well as some text inbetween scenes.

  • I guess 400 years wouldn't suffice? If modern civilization can't maintain relevant goals for more than 100 years then doesn't 10,000 sounds incredulous?
  • They come out for too long. We get that it's a huge army, we don't need a family-guy scene.
  • Oh my lord you show that long-ass video for each side (good / evil).
  • Epic battle scene.
  • Holy **** a parachute.

The storyline actually revolves around civilisation more or less destroying itself all that time ago, by 10,000 years the old but more advanced technology that you end up questing for would be lost/forgotten.

With the length of the intro though it's possible we will cut some things down if the whole thing takes too long.

Beginning was alright, don't really like how the castles looked and the marching time should be cut down a bit.
I really dislike like the fighting scene, it came out corny to me and I don't think there should of been any comedy added. (WTF @ parachute?)
Also, why did the war take place?
2.5/5 for me

This is meant to be unravelled throughout the game.

I dunno man, that fighting scene probably wasn't INTENDED to be corny... But it was so corny it was pretty awesome, like Napoleon Dynamite.

You should try to hint to that more in the opening dialogue, I thought it was confusing too.

The 2nd part of the intro when made is meant to provide a background + imediate motive for the player, the relevance this has to the first part of the intro would appear small at first but begin to build as the game progresses.

Any chance in removing the parachute? Maybe have the guy sneak up from the cliff above or come from under a bush?

I'm saying it needs to be added to the dialogue so that it's more clear.

If someone hurled a bomb from the cliff edge it'd be equally badass to the parachute.

This is handled by our cutscene controls, and already done within the first part of the intro (minus the hearts, will remove these too), this just hasn't been applied to the 2nd part because it is still being worked on, possible that I could have hidden it (even though i'm not using the Graal Clients capture) but didn't think it would be that big of a deal for a preview.

I presumed it was a literal preview, he probably did too.
