Anyway, for Week 7. Been hard to make any picks lately though, the NFL has been quite unpredictable this season:
GB @ CLE
Winner: Packers
As if the Browns didn't have enough trouble this season, now they have a flu outbreak. Aaron Rodgers should be able to pick apart the secondary here, it will be made tough though if the offensive line continues to be porous. Anyone who has Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver(had an amazing grab on the Lions last week) or god forbid Ryan Grant for some unknown reason should look to start them on this terrible Browns defense.
SF @ HOU
Winner: 49ers
Should be a good and close game. I give it to the Niers in the end though. Coach Singletary is all about discipline, which they didn't show in the Atlanta game. He's had the bye week to drill into them about week 5 and Frank Gore is expected to play.
SD @ KC
Winner: Chargers
After a frustrating loss to the Broncos, Rivers should have a field day on the Chief's weak pass defense.
IND @ STL
Winner: Colts
Durrrrr. We should instead be betting on if the Rams bother to show up. This should be a massacre, but hey, look at what the Raiders did last week.
NE vs.TB @ Wembley Stadium, London
Winner: Patriots
Brady seems to look better in every game. Granted he had it easy in that ridiculous game that put the Titans on suicide watch. I am kind of disappointed we are showcasing a game to Britain that just looks like its gonna be a blowout. Have fun Xaphan!
MIN @ PIT
Winner: Steelers
The Steelers have turned into a formidable passing team now and have the talent at QB and WR to do it effectively. The Vikings secondary has already been weak as it is, now they may lose their strongest player in the secondary, Antoine Winfield, who is questionable with an ankle sprain. The loss of Antoie Winfield means Jared Allen will have to have his best game of the season and keep Big Ben on the ground, and it isn't like he isn't used to getting sacked. The Steelers D has some holes as compared to last season but they still have one of the top defenses in the league especially vs. the run, second to only the Vikings, so they shouldn't have too much trouble keeping Peterson to another average game, forcing Favre to battle it out with
Ben Roethlisberger in the air.(this is the most iritating player name to type) This game will come down to the play of the defensive lines and linebackers. Throwing one of the best home field advantages into the mix, I like the Steelers to end the Vikings win streak in Hienz Field. Start Ben Roethlisberger for this one.
BUF @ CAR
Winner: Panthers
This should be a no brainer. Panthers are getting hot on their running game with over 260 yards rushing last week. The Bills allowed the Jets to gain OVER 300 YARDS RUSHING, they are the worst rushing defensive team in the league. Considering this game will be a low scoring ground game, neither one of these teams is clicking in the passing, you can see where this game is going to go. If someone has DeAngelo Williams this week, start him now.
NYJ @ OAK
Winner: Jets
I am trusting that Sanchez and the Jets have learned their lesson this week. I am hoping to see a Jets offense that relies more on their two great running backs in Thomas Jones and Leon Washington so Sanchez can redeem himself with some safer, more high percentage throws. It would be in his best interest in his career to be more careful with the ball anyway after that 5 INT performance last week. It should be safe to start him this week Mystic, not like you have a choice unless you trade, he won't have mind-blowing stats this week, but he shouldn't repeat the same mistakes this time, unless hes the next coming of Ryan Leaf.
CHI @ CIN
Winner: Bears
I was up in the air completely about this game until I head about the Bengals losing Odom for the season. He was a large asset in the Bengals defense. Without him, I can't see them being able to pressure Jay Cutler enough to knock him out of rhythm with his speedster WRs and make mistakes. Jay Cutler is a decent start this week and Matt Forte still is doing terrible. I would be wary to start Cedric Benson this week, he's got a lot of beef with his former team here, and if he lets that cloud his mind too much...
Plus, Chicago has a top #10 rushing defense.
ATL @ DAL
Winner: Cowboys
This is a tough one considering how these teams have been playing lately, I might regret this pick too. I just like Dallas's running back corps as well as starter rookie WR Miles Austin, the Boys will need another big game out of Austin this week. This is a must win game for this team, Wade Phillips will not have a job at the end of the season if he goes .500 or less, this is a team with a history of winning and thats what Jerry Jones expects out of this team that he just built the Taj Mahal of stadiums for. If Tony Romo continues to be inconsistent, there will be questions on if he is this franchise's QB after all. I'm seeing a shootout and a temporary relief of Gladius's rising anger in his team.
NO @ MIA
Winner: Saints
Wildcat ftw!?!?! No.
An explosive offense that easily dismantled the Giants defense last week? Yep.
I stick by my claim that the Saints are Superbowl bound.
ARI @ NYG
Winner: Giants
The Cards have to strike fast and often to have a shot. The Giants D needs to decide to show up this week at home. In the end, I don't think the Cardinals have a consistent enough offense to keep a decent lead and the Giants running game shut down.
PHI @ WAS
Winner: Eagles
I really can't see the Eagles dropping two in a row to teams that are completely self-destructing this season. If the Eagles lose to the Raiders AND the Redskins in back to back games, I wouldn't even bother coming back to Philly if I were them |
