Same thing happened to me....twice.

Basic booster is five random commons, which range from lvl 0, lvl 1, and lvl 2. Apparently nights been the only one lucky enough to get lvl 2s (he got like 4,) though I just saw rob get a lvl 1, so it can't be completely fixed.

Its just rare like any other card game. Only in real life, you would just buy more for a bigger chance on getting a rare.

Now, instead of saving your money, you need to save your points to buy the better booster. Unless you're feeling lucky.

and im thankful for the time decrease yes, but i feel waiting 15 minutes still is eh eh. 10 would be good, means we could go watch a match and come back and be good to go pretty much.

i still think tickets or gralat(after a reset) to buy card point would have been better

because there will be one that will grow and be better , and no one to beat him!

Random 5 cards. The basic booster has commons, while the other two give you better chances at uncommons and/or rares.

Just won my first 10 games, had 10 card points. I was so excited to get my new booster but then ended up getting the most worthless level 0 cards.

yay.

Game's fabulous.

I think this is a good opportunity to put gralats/rupee/gelats into use.
The booster pack store should sell Card Points, one for about 10,000 gralats.
I think it's a fair price considering how much money people have in their bank.

Or unfair pricing considering if the black gelat is obtainable anymore.

The only issue is that gelats are obtainable by simple means. Tickets you win. Card points you win. Gelats you get from bushes and kills.

It makes sense to be able to use gelats since we have an abundance, but cards are apparently supposed to be tough to obtain.

I'll bring it up with DC and night though.

The only people that have an excessive amount of gelats are those that are already established on the server. Selling points for gelats automatically places those current players at an unfair advantage and alienates the new players that visit to play. I honestly don't understand why these card points are held with such value with people either because you can easily gain them.

Why wasn't the gelat or whatever reset when the black gelat was no longer obtainable?
It's like TRYING to make the gelat system obsolete or something.

I think there needs to be a better points system actually. I can get 20 players on from other servers, not tell them the rules and then I will have an easy 20 points. You should be gaining bigger points when defeating better opponents, not just 1 point for every game won. If the amount of points you gained depended upon the other persons level, ability, cards owned, points:your points ratio, whatever, then it would probably be more appropriate.

This could still lead to several problems as well. If you're friend has a horrible w/l ratio you can let them beat you then transfer the points to yourself.

Those were just a few examples. If it was really desired, they could use something like the spar rating Glicko system as a determining factor for giving out points. Maybe they should just script that Xbox TrueSkill system and implement it everywhere (CTF team picking, events, ranks, etc) like it was suggested before, but I can't see that one happening

Should just give 1 card point for losing an active game(Use a script check to determine if it is being lamed or an active game) and 2 points for winning an active game.

So even if you win or lose you can get new cards.

So we're going to reward people for losing? This isn't little league baseball. "Hey you lose but we know you tried so here's a meaningless trophy."

I know that these decks really suck and if you get off to a bad w/l start, things won't be that fun and will get worse as everyone else gets better. But if we reward people when they lose, does it really matter that much if you win or lose? "Oh I lost but the only penalty is waiting 15 minutes cause I still got points so I don't care that much."

LOL similar complaint eh?

Ill say it again, because now its showing. Card game should have been held off until a bigger player count was established for classic. Because now i'm sitting around wanting to play, and there is only 3 people on . I mean, we waited almost 3 years for it, could have waited a bit longer.

And like Rufus says, even though DC tried so hard to be so strict and restrict almost everything, we can still find ways to lame our points. If the game was released with a player count that was consistent with classic, then everyone would all be up to speed with each other, and there wouldn't be that much of a problem. Now I already see people refusing to play others because that person is to good now, or people asking "hey how did that person get all those points and why can't i beat them!"

I fear....I fear.

if only people were honorable and dumb their decks down for other people in order to have a fair match. maybe an optional script that balances # of L1 L2 etc cards that can be played during a game

That would work. Like a pokemon stadium type thing. The match is set at level 0-1 only.

Or different level rooms, one room is for high level playing cards only, one is for low. Something along those lines.

Not when the older players have the more better cards and can easily beat new players.

that would be cool. or you set a limit for "points" available for each match. the the points are relative to a cards level. just something to balance the sides out to make it fair. like i said earlier, it's optional. myself personally, if i'm playing a new player i consciously don't use my high level card (singular). it's only fair to them and it keeps them interested in the game, and the server by proxy.

i suggested this to glad, but how likely is it that there is at least 1 mandatory L1 card in the L1 booster pack. don't most irl trading card games do something like that?

In MTG (magic the gathering) boosters you are guaranteed one rare, a few uncommons, and the rest commons.

From what I recall, DC said the basic booster simply randomizes out commons.

Do know that level and rarity don't always go hand in hand. All lvl 0s are common, but lvl 1s (and a few 2s) can be common or uncommon.

Funny, because thats exactly what I meant. Experienced players will be better because they know how it works, and they will be better because they've (hopefully) earned better cards.

Noobs aren't going to have a good chance against say, Rob or Night, because they have really good cards (lvl 2s) and have played quite a few games. Not much we can do about that.

Rob and night both have good records from getting good cards early. Does this mean they're good? Not necessarily, but they are. I don't know Dae's win/loss ratio but I've seen him lose games (including to myself,) so its not like he's dominating the card circuit. Once people gather up some cards they'll be at his level (if he is indeed not that good) so we won't have to worry about that.
