Weather Update!

Daynight system:

Ofcourse we've made several updates in the past period, one of them is merging the daynight system with the calender and weather system. Here is a snapshot of the calender opened. When you mouse over the red bar on the daynight gui the calender will slide out of it (make the bar bigger also) and well.. you'll see the weather and events (events aren't displayed yet).

If you have any suggestions you can always ask to have stuff added or optimized (or deleted) in it and I'll do my best to make it as nice as possible, just as the other stuff on the server.

Seems rather pointless, unless the weather has some actual impact on what you can do.

Maybe it has an effect on farming? I see that the abbreviation for the month is "Aut". Or is that the season? Also I noticed that the 'month' has 47 days in it. Could you post an example of what an complete Bomy Island year would look like on a calender?

On a related note: The Day/Night GUI is HUGE!

P.S. Why is it so bright outside at 1:14AM?

I like it, it should show more than just the weather though. I'd like it if you could add notes on to the calander for specific days such as paying rent if they own a house or something.

The weather will affect many things, it will affect farming (as mentioned below in haunter's message) for example, like.. farming will go faster if it rains but if it rained for 3 days it'll go "wrong" (drowned plants or so hehe, I just gotta work that out). Just wait and see.

"Aut" stands for Autumn, so it are seasons, yes. A season has about 47 days.
In one real year for us (real people) there will be two years on Bomy Island.
From day 0 - 46 it's Spring, from day 46 - 91 its Summer, from day 91 - 137 its Autumn and last but not least, Winter from day 137 - 182.

Oh and here is a snap of how the gui normally is (you can also hide it as in: toggle the quick inventory with the daynight gui).

Oh and it's so bright outside because I didn't enable the daynight effects yet (am making them).

Thanks, and yes I indeed had in mind to show important things like paying rent. I've also got in mind to make it like.. the players can schedule their own seasons (what they wanna do on what day, or just leave "notes").

Well I just randomly created some weather set hehe.. ofcourse we'll "plan" better weather once everything works, this was just for testing the drawing and setting of the weather.

Make sure you make a disabled feature for it. Cool idea but some people might not want that at the top of their screen.

Very cool, but as said before, it is extremely large, considering it doesn't show anything else than the weather.

Very nice looking. What I would suggest is make a half circle with a red outline such as the GUI above the clock, and in the half circle include the smaller symbols that show up once the calendars brought up. The only time I want to see that big cloud is when it's floating above me. ;D

It's the year 2007, why are you guys still trying to make something out of Graal 2001? It worked in 2001, hence the name... I say you move on.

That's not meant to sound negative, it's just kind of weird how people are still trying to perfect a 6 year-old project.

If they tried bringing the original Doomsday (or babylon) back, i wouldn't play it. Not because it's old, but because I didn't even like it when it was still on the classic server list and had some players. It wasn't really original and looked like UN too much in my opinion, just like all the other servers that died at the same time.
I don't know why but it always felt like 2001 was diferent, and from what i've seen on there, it's gona be the best server out there when it opens. I just hope you can still be a bomy :O!

You play Graal2002 AKA Graal Kingdoms? That place is going no where, maybe we should scrap that too and make a new one.

Exactly. That's why we are still working on 2k1, PCs been improved and are still populair (dôhh xD), and so will 2k1 be!

By the way, we are in need of staff badly

It's been 3 days since someone last logged in (which was me -.-), if you've got any development talent contact me as soon as possible for a job please. Without any staff I'll get demotivated, which will be a big lose because actually nobody else is active

The server should move on because the quality of it roxx and once we're done it won't get boring to play

It is unfortunate that you do not have anyone working but it was sort of expected with the atmosphere the LATs had to work under.

I'd help you out if I wasn't already in a project, other then that, you're doing an alright job at bringing back G2K1

Maybe its the name thats causing people to not want to come help you out.

2001 is like trying to bring back.. Ohh, a server from 2002.

Not many 2002 players left, and if they are, they're on the forums.

It's a pretty big revision. But yeah, good luck with it ;P

I think you could shrink the size of the display(clouds, sun and what not), and lose not a drop of the feeling you want to give with the gui.
