I like the new style. More of a 2D, cartoon type of feel, which suits graal much better.

's why I have such high hopes for the Global Gralat. It'd be cool if there was a Global Graal Economy, and you can farm on Kingdoms to save up money for a new gizmo on Zone and vice versa - pick a game where you like the Earn Money technique (but one that doesn't just GIVE it away) and do your power-earning there. Could lead to big things if it takes off.

Can someone help me? My Graal version is showing as v4.1, but I am not getting the new gui or anything...it still remains the same old gui and I seem to be lagging quite a bit for some reason now.

Hi.

The new client is available for all GraalOnline players! Cool, right?

Though, the new serverlist is available for only VIP members right now. So either upgrade to VIP or wait a bit!

Not true. All in all, everything benefits the players in the end. More power for developers, means some cool content can be developed. Better protection against hackers, means that it will be harder for cheaters to take away from the enjoyment of normal players. The flash games in the serverlist are obviously to show off the new support for flash and for the enjoyment of the players. So really, the players benefit the most.

I need to know the download location for this

Are you sure it says active-x, not direct-x?
If it's active-x you may change your intertnet options in your browser or check your firewall/antivirus options.
Btw: clear up your PM folder please.

I haven't time to sort out out 500 PMs. I have no firewall and yes, it is ACTIVE x.

If so, might want to have a bitflag param for stuff like PM window focused, graal window focused, letting it use different types of exceptions

Unless I'm misinformed, development on Graal 3d was slowed when Graal 4 came out and due to them redoing the engine and such to be easier to develop with. They obviously have plans for it, or they wouldn't be developing it any further.

Okay, now i'm disappointed.
isapplicationactive()?? What in the world does this do? It doesn't do what I thought it would. In fact, it's returning false for me.

No, showtext doesn't have a text shadow, and yet it's being added to GUI Controls? This is really irritating. It would also be nice if I could draw on whatever special layer nicks are on, and whatever layer chat is on. Right now I'm having to hack around using showtext2 with a z-value for showing nicks and emulating chat text I'd like to see my code in a much cleaner fashion.

It's also irritating that I can't rescript things for Classic and maintain the same features as the default systems. The ratings system? I can't disable or overwrite the chat text for two players temporarily. I would very much like this, even though players on classic now prefer the custom ratings and nick systems more than the default ones.

Another thing I wanted to do was put up a map image. However, this has been disabled in version 4, and there are features with the default map that you can't put to use with a custom map. This mainly involves player locations and PM/GM/MM/toall bubbles.

/ping... RC??? what? It doesn't do ANY good on RC. All it does is tell you their modem strength and how far away from the server they are. I'll still be looking forward to whatever script features are enabled with it.

The only feature I can see myself using with this release is the player.gmap variable, which I don't believe is listed here. Maybe, though, I could find some use for the showpoly texture.

I guess it would mean like:

I'm on client, I press the "Esc" button, and GraalOnline freezes complete for me, as in, nothing around me functions.

I could be in an event, press Esc a lot, and not get hurt at all. You know?

Well - will there be floating-point layers in the future? I mean, it's kinda stringent how things are Layer 0,1,2,3,4, and within these layers sorted by Y+Height; why not instead of layer 0 Y+Height 52, sometimes we can just put stuff on layer 0.5? It's a Future Improvements question, but this is the hot thread - perhaps the future of this update can be discussed?

Update your DirectX. If it still does that then update your video card drivers.

You can read the x/y of other players on the same gmap, I believe, even if they aren't near you.
Unfortunately, map generation doesn't seem to be to scale?
When I generated a map image and tried to script my own map, I had to do some weird stuff to the player's x/y position on the map.. The map was the proper size and all, but it seems like it skipped some rows of pixels?
PHP Code:
headx player.player..1;
heady player.12 player..1
Anyway, I agree, this wasn't what I expected.. No problems were really fixed and nothing that really effects gameplay was added.. Just some pretty new GUI features.

I'm personally not too fond of the new F8 menu either due to the graphics. As others have said, it's a setback quality wise.

I think it would be cool to be able to customize it as you can your RC through a text document...or something along those lines.

...you can customize the graphics. I actually thought of that as a step forward rather than a step backwards. I find the style to match Graal a bit better.

Yea, I think the map feature needs a grab-type thing like Adobe Acrobat Reader has. Also, that isn't Classic's most recent map, and certainly not using Classic's Tileset.

EDIT: What might even be cooler than that is an interactive minimap instead.

I believe it's already been said, but considering there is so many new features and mini games. It'd be nice to customise your Graal client, make it more homely the graphics and etc could be client side rather than the modification changes on the server.

That'd put a kick back into Graal.
