Rate meh first game level! :D

Right, this is my first level, at the moment i'm applying for LAT Unholy Nation, I've done alot of tests and have read the NPC scripting manual in my graal directory (I advise anyone who is running on a Windows Installation to read it!)
good stuff. I decided (to make it more exciting) to turn it into a RPG sort of, anyway

it's based on a evil magician taking over a small town called
'Bant' (I know it's not a good town name) but I found it OK, You (the main character) has to stop this evil magician from destroying the town! There's a fighting academy and friendly civilians who give a free bow, bombs and health.

Here's the pictures:
1st one is the main town area.
2nd one is the inside of the magicians house.

PS: It's no way near finish!!!
Constructive criticism and anything advisable is welcome!

What the... All I have to say is I can point out a lot of tile errors.. and tiles that shouldn't be on the right spot. Like long grass on the pathway.. X_X

It's good that you have used a lot of different objects, but try and make your own by selecting 1 tile at a time, rarther than pre-built objects.

Also, generally putting a lot of the same tile/object together isn't so good, so try and put different things together/more spaced out.

And finally, most of Graals levels have a fair bit of blankness to them, so don't just try and fill every time. Flat grass is allowed! (plain green stuff)

Someone else will probably reply telling you how to join trees, as that's needed in your level. But you could try and save a level/get one from someone with joined trees to see which tiles are used.

The level is basically one huge poorly planned out tile error ;x

I remember my first level...maybe some of you should think back to your first level also...these levels aren't too bad for a start, just keep practicing, but you really aren't ready to tryout for a LAT job

This is an update of the main town area, I'll show pictures of the fighting academy soon iswell.. The students have their own flat ^_^ cool eh? :P nvm..

PS: I know there is an error with the tree stump but im fixing it as soon as possible. (when I can be bothered)

its better but your dirt path still has a few errors not to mention its all even dont make stuff symetrical also dont be afraid to use corners not every path is stright more varity but it is nice on how your first level you used quite a bit of tiles.

You need to learn to accept criticism as it is. No matter how much you dislike their criticism, they will be your main audience, so you must piece their criticism apart and learn what is wrong wtih your work if you truly aim to please.

I dont ask for praise, I prefer criticism said in a different manor, thats usually how fights and alot more happen. Because people dont take 'criticism' at all well. Probably why the worlds soo corrupt.

True also some people dont know how to give "good" criticism like saying well nice level for a beginer but you need to do x,and y things to make it better often they just say. "That level looks like crap on crap with poo!!!".

Actually, the majority of posters in this thread (and virtually all others) did give "good criticism," as you called it. I don't see what the big fuss is.

As I suppose you meant that to me -- unless their is some charismatic, logical reason to change, no one will change. "ITS NOT THE WAY I LIKE IT" is not the correct criteria.

Give more detail like cliffs,more flowers, etc and in the inside use your own styles so it looks better

Those are old levels out of style and using alot of predefined stuff they are releasing a new overowlrd thats more up to date and less tiles errores (or so i hope)!

edit: end of april is what the npc server says for the new over world
