Mercenary Group's

I've always been amazed that you can PK people for plat, diamonds, and whatever else you might loot off their bodies.

Hell, people used to pay me to PK for them, which is why I was "Splke the Merc".

It seems, this idea has lingered for awhile.. We've got Pirates, Dustarians, Elves, Fish, and even Samuria, but no Mercs?

I propose a new kingdom, much like the one Wolfgang created in GrowLansers II <shameless plug>, where they are completly nuetral, and you HIRE them to kill people, kindof like Bounty Hunters on Era. The script would enable you to put a plat/diamond/item reward on somebodys head, and once a merc kills that person, they automatically get the reward (once you lay the bounty, the items are taken from your inventory).

However, in the need of help during a War, you can also hire them to assist you.

Being that, Merc's also have their own minds, they are not pawns for use of the bigger guys. I think Mercenaries would play a big role in the PK -> RP department, giving reason (RP ish) to PK, and also giving Power Players a way to make some plat/diamonds, and possibly participate in RP.

Who else thinks this would be a good idea? I myself would play again if this happened.

I have an inkling that, if implemented, the Mercenaries would have more people than the other Kingdoms, which would be wrong. Perhaps if a member limit was set it would be better.

Then people would complain that only friends of staff or the leader were able to join. Thus making the group a select group of cool people. I can see the whining now.

That's idiotic. Zormite and Dustari have better members then anybody else, what did you just base your reasonnings on?

How would they be anything like a Mercenary KINGDOM? They wouldn't, they were just abunch of idiots who capitalized on the re-configuartized guild CP.

Bounties are just abit of how the Mercenary groups could impact Graal, and that would be part of the sport. You would have to catch them before they went peaceful, otherwise you aren't much of a "hunter" , now are you?

If they went on peaceful mode you could always caludron bomb them. hehe

I remember the days when you couldn't stand in bomb trade without being suicide bombed by some idiot. Good times..

Cauldron bombs were removed and de-activated. Me, MarkB, and DragonX unleashed about 20 of those at once, when Stefan was on. We totally raped him of 10-20 Event Cubes, among other fun things.

Cauldron Bombs allowed me to kill Jagen, which is a major +. And since I had enough resists to withstand the blast, I could pick up all the loot. It's how I got my [illegal] Con+1 Amulet. ^_^

I managed to survive a blast once and I picked up some decent drops. All the other times I got killed in seconds.

No it's not. I am almost 100% certain that there are alot of people (mostly the non Rpers, aka Pkers) who would rather be in a Kingdom where they can get free money for killing people, rather than have to be in a Kingdom in which they have nothing but a title and have to Roleplay.

Not entirely true. Plasma and Juggernaut would rather stay with me in Forest, than run off to a PKing place. Ana (if), Craig, Zoe, Aki, etc (of the obviously supplied family) would stay they're place, and probably make great use of the Mercenary groups. There aren't many big power players on GK, there are the kids who get off on -60 wc, and people like Craigus who get off on -85 ac. None of them are good enough to create a super kingdom (, which is what you suggest).
