April Fools Day Event.

With April Fools coming up soon. (Well, not soon, it's in a month). I'm starting to prepare for an event. I'm going to gather a multitude of weapons and bless them to Aengus +3 (He IS the god of Tricksters after all. ) And then I'll hold some sort of event to distribute them. BUT, I want for you all to contribute ideas as to what kind of event I should hold. Personally, I was thinking of a type of scavenger hunt, where I give clues to the location of each weapon (1 at a time) and people would have to travel and dig for those bags. :]

What do you all think?

I wouldn't mind helping if there was anything I could do - as long as I can bend it storywise in some way so it fits my kitchen

Of course there would be an RP element involved. We could say something like, Satrek met a man (moi) at the ruins one day. He helped excavate the ruins, and stumbled upon a secret passage behind a fake wall. The passage led to some sort of shrine, apparently belonging to Aengus. There they found a box, which contained many papers. The one on top was a rhyme of sorts, which spoke of the blessing that Aengus bestows every year on his birthday to the world, and the sheets below it all gave clues as to the location of these objects.

Or something like that.

Hm... the box could be the only one remaining in a small storage shed, contain cookies made by Aengus most skilled followers, wrapped in the scrolls. Also, I'm afraid the shroom would try to bite you on your way in, but if you can live with that...

No - it's the definiton of events on GK - at least mine. It's quite hard to do proper roleplaying events with roleplaying only, as someone has to judge it - there's no such abstract thing as good and bad rping. Having a task and give it a rpish meaning, a background story as I try to evolve, it in my eyes better than just getting people together to kill each other for no better reason than none.

Lol, yeah, that's usually how most events used to be. It's like: "Okay, see this shiny item? Well, whichever one of you is left able to lift it will keep it! Go, start killing each other now."
"Yay! I like killing! *stab stab*"
*5 minutes later*
"LIEK OMG! I PWNS j00!! T3H SHEILD ISH MIEN!!!!!!11!1!!1shift+one!!!1!`~!1!"

At least here you cut out the first part of that. :O

He means that I should be able to get my wisdom up to a point where I can bless to "of Aengus +4" or "of Aengus +5" in a month. Well, who knows. I'm not going to powerlevel for that reason. I'm one level away from +3, and that's fine and dandy for me. (Actually, 500k away from that level to be exact.)

I appreciate the offer, but I plan to give out just weapons of Aengus+3. It's a short day, and I won't have much time to hold many events, so I'll probably only be able to hold events for 6 weapons at most.

Aengus +4 should be rare enough. Also, at least a little part of the will to participate should come from the fun involved, bot some uber items.

It isn't. But Aengus has no more than a handful of worshippers. And I'm level 19 wisdom now. I plan on being the first to do +4 Aengus as well. And the first Aengus worshipper at max wis level.

Eventually.
Perhaps not the first of all the people to achieve 107 wisdom, but the first Aengus worshipper to do so. I don't think you need 107 wisdom to max out the blessings on his weapons though. He only does it up to like +7 or so. ;[

Why don't you make it more intresting and throw 1 or 2 event coins in there on your own if you have any.

You ask someone to sacrifice their own coins when they're already thworing in some rare blessings? Besides, if the event is planned out properly, there may be official coins - maybe, maybe not.

I said it was a idea not to do it.

Arg. :[

I was hoping to do the event today, but I've been swamped with so much work, I haven't gotten a chance to do the blessings yet.

I mean, I had to like, catch up on 3592070925 homework assignments, debug work, study for a math and history test, work on 2 Final Projects for my computer science class (yes, two), and finish moving as well.

Besides, April Fools is (sadly) a Thursday this year, AND the day of my math test, so I certainly couldn't cut school to hold the event. I'll hold it this weekend (probably Sunday) since my vacation begins this weekend.

Besides, it'll be better. We'll have more people to play around with.

+11 is the most you can do BTW.

I did it with Ogma on debug server at wisdom level 107 (most you can get for any/each skill experience/level)...
