How did you make money on Graal2001?

I'm stumped as to how I can put any sort of cash into my pockets. I have a wooden hammer (thanks to a kind Graalian), and ALL I need is 20 gralat for a metal axe so I can mine for gralats. However, I need those 20 gralat first.

How did you make your starting money? I've tried begging, it doesn't work too well. I tried asking for a metal axe that no one wanted, but of course they always say back "Sure, but give me 20 gralats first."

Argh, it's frustrating. Any tips would be appreciated. I know I can make money on events, but I usually miss them.

And trust me, I don't think that mining is the way to go. UNless you have 47320954 hours on hand then don't craft gold with wooden hammer. I won't even get started on a durby (3X as long)

Just keep begging. Make a good friend from someone and mooch off of them with promise to pay back when you get more money.

and i got my start with money making after stefan got pk'ed and i picked up 60 gralat heh
