What ever happened to the idea for armor and other fun things like the idea for a blaster map for fun events and whatever else?

I know plenty of people who liked the ideas they jjust died and I wonder if they had put any thought into adding them. I would love if vulcan could post and give us updates on what hes planning but oh well!
