I talked to him yesterday and he said he is currently just helping out, but is soon to be the GM.

Something that tends to happen is that a person who wants a very high position in some type of business or company that has to start at the bottom doesn't really do a good job at the lower position, because they want to save their energy for the big time when it counts much more. An example would be with, maybe, Zorro as Accounts Admin, because he may have already known about becoming the potential GM, thus he wants to concentrate all time and energy on that. I really don't know, that's just a suggestion.
