Providence Hiring

Providence needs new staff to help bring the server back to Graal.

Providence is a medieval server that puts an equal focus on roleplaying and powergaming, so players who want to do one or the other don't get left out. It was once a public server, but due to management problems (and a corrupt Game Master) it died off. Our goal is to revive the server not only to it's former state, but make it even better.

Some key features that made the server what it was:

• Six unique classes that can be leveled up to obtain new abilities
• The ability to change classes at any time. Your experience with each class is saved, allowing you to level and play more than one class.
• Jobs used to make money, such as mining, farming, logging, and entrepreneurship.
• Random world events held by the server at regular intervals, such as bandit raids and dragon sightings.
• Various forms of transportations to help players explore the vast overworld, including boats and portals.

I'm looking for 1-2 Level people, 2 GFX people, and 1-2 gani people.

Some of my best times on graal were spent roleplaying on Providence. Just have the boats and I'll be content.

i for one remember providence, and I don't think it would be wise bringing it back.

We're debating over whether to update the levels to look better, or leave them in their former state. We want to keep the old Providence feel, but we also want to add new content, so it's hard to know what people won't mind being updated..
Those levels were top-notch in their times!

There weren't really revisions, just change in management. Each new manager kept the previous content the way it was and added to it.

And <3 boats. A Providence without boats just wouldn't be right!

I remember being hired as a NAT there once.. They didn't know how to set the Npc server message. So I had to come save the day, and people know I can't script. Yet, I was the best person to script online at the time.. Scary huh?

I talk to Tyne a lot. He made the suggestion to revive it and sent me the levels, ganis, graphics, and sounds.

And I'm pretty sure Providence had either Tyne, ShadowKnight, or Jagen to do the scripting at all points throughout it's life.
Except when Torankusu gave it to Kuza, who proceeded to kill it more than it already was.


Unless I'm working for someone I feel can script on the same or higher levels than me, I feel like I'm being insulted. Of course, I am the kind of person who believes most people without scripting ability have inferior intellect, so yeah.. That says a lot.

I'd like to see the levels stay the same, but maybe some just updated a little to make it look nicer.
