Nice forest...but very old

K lets see here this was around either November or December of 2001...I had more like this, some of them being a little better, but since it was so long ago and ive switched computers twice (maybe even three times) this single screenshot is all I have left...which I only just found tonight =o Don't bother pointing out that the log's stolen from Zelda.

It's a disgraceful looking level, to be honest. The shadows aren't to the right spots on some of the tiles (but that's the tileset's fault, not yours), and the edge separating the grass from the swamp doesn't fit. The tree looks like it is a graphic, and I'll assume it is.

Also, not only is the log stolen from Zelda 3, the little stump-cave entrance is as well. Not to mention the level is made in the exact way as the Haunted Forest.

However, it is good for what Graal had to offer at the time.

Dude, Graal < Zelda. Don't insult Zelda with that lame copy, ok?

um no that was the tree that graal's tileset had at the time

um kay thanks i didnt specifically say that but i was kind of hoping that people would do some thinking and get it that i meant not just the big log tunnel but the log/stump cave entrance as well

that...was the POINT. it was what i was TRYING to go for

And I recall saying:

The tiles. The shadows don't fully envelop the level. You have, let's say, the small trees. In the corners of the tiles, it isn't shadowed. However, I did say that was no fault of yours.

I know that's the tree Graal was using at the time; I have been around for a long time y'know. It still looks as if it is a graphic, rather than straight from the tiles.

No fault of mine. Assumptions aren't the best to go from.

Using the theme down to exact shapes (such as the rays of lights bursting through the canopy) is almost always a bad idea, such as is this case. Be creative and stop copying.

Guys don't be so critical. I really don't think he meant to show it off as being a great level. I mean jesus, it's with the old tileset, and it's before the "Tiling Reformation" of Graal when people first started to learn how to properly use the level editor. So that's not really important.

Chill. I mean, how can you NOT like looking at the old levels? Even if they suck, you've gotta love ancient graal levels

Because I've seen enough of them. I started playing long before the tileset was what it is now.

Current tileset with bad levels = bad
Old tileset with bad levels = worse.

Except for the fact that Graal is with multiple players.

Oh yes, the level is nice but not very detailed. But for what Graal had to offer those days, it is

the tilling reformation...yeah...i really like how people have learned to completly at random throw flowers mushrooms and diffrent grass tiles around to make it look better...when it actually looks kind of uh worse....seriously im the ONLY one that thinks plain and simple in some cases is a good thing

i cant disagree tho that i didnt do such a great job in tililng this..definetly could have been done better
