Where is the new content?

Ok I've been playing, and searching so far all I've seen is less content than when it went uc. If thats not bad enough all removed content that I've seen has been poorly done by putting rock images over the item in question. (such as the caves) Or blocking that shed thats to the left of the main river with some tiles. It really tacky, you could at least take the time to have the LAT's make it look nice and not like some one hurled on a level in attempt to hide stuff. How long where you guys UC? At least 2 months right? Why was no content added? The only good things I've seen done was the bomy morpher removed (thank god!) and money being made harder to get. What has the staff been doing all this time in UC? Another thing I can say is I'm glad you guys removed the old kingdom levels (although the dustari walls should be taken down as well in my opinion) But with all this takin gdown of content it seems you guys forgot to add content in its place. What about that quest that was being made when I was working there? The levels where basically done for it. Just needed added content. Why not more quests? Caverns with lots of baddies like the Antora Caverns and you get components to finish a quest and maybe you get a hat you can only get by completing the quest which is spread all over the server. Perhaps one of the items is buried some where and you have to dig with a shovel. It's not that hard to add content with out doing loads and loads of work. Maybe things will be better when Kingdoms are released I hope so because it looks like the population is starting to dwindle a little bit more each day.

Couldn't agree more, i was thinking about posting a thread like this myself, :o
What have you people been doing all that time?! There's still a LOT of bugs, and some places ganis haven't been replaced by ones that use new bodies o.O I have only seen 1 bug fixed, and that's the one about the power glove x.X If you guys don't get working soon, the server will be dead in a month ;X

There are at least 2 quests for which all the levels are done. I have no clue what's keeping the staff from finishing them up.

Jobs and conetent are VERY easy to do. I mean Mushroom Picking was done in 2 days or so...

Cheese Making can be done in same amount of days. Mmm... Cheese... And it can be bomies only job.

New Events are easy to make as well, you could make a decent ping-pong game, where there are actual ganis and GFX involved, and then tournaments can be hosted.

Shessh ideas are all out there.

And if Staff was working on something, I think we would like to know what is being worked on.

Thank you for your time.

I'm also disappointed. I don't see how making money harder to get is supposed to improve the fun. Let's recap this:

1) Money was easy to get
2) Everyone got reset
3) Money is now hard to get

Now imagine this being put into a real world interpretation. You're working at Burger King. The manager decides to take away all your paychecks. Then the manager cuts your salary.

YAY!

If you're going to lessen the money earned from jobs, then MAKE THEM FUNNER. I don't think people would care at all about how much they make, if the job was fun to do. You changed NOTHING with the jobs. They are all still the same, and people can still cheat with macros, and it's still nothing but tapping one button.

Nothing else was added. I am also wondering what was done while it was in development. All I keep hearing is that bugs were fixed. Big deal. People play regardless of some bugs. What good is a server with less bugs, when it's not fun anymore in the first place?

I don't mean to slam the development team, but I mean come on. The server practically makes new content on it's own. You could add little things here and there every other day, and everyone would be happy. You don't need to be making super mondo quests, or putting up kingdoms. You need to be adding content that can be used NOW.

I'm sure you guys were very confident and full of yourselves when you had nearly 300 players on at the opening. But you sure aren't getting those numbers now.

I've already said every response possible to this before, Konidias; it's a rather simple matter, really. The economics of the reduction of jobs was explained as well - this is where literacy plays a big role in forum visits, because if you can read, then you don't have to ask a question which has already been answered several times.

What have we been doing so far. BUGFIXING. You obviously have no idea what Jeff left us with. There were bugs so bad that it left the game unplayable.

I'll list a couple of the major ones. First, bomys were unplayable. Second, Diving was broken. Third, all the instruments were broken. We literally had to re-script these things.

Why?

A little thing called serverside toweapons erasing the old scripts. Thank Jeff for that one.

What can we expect now?

We're working on the new content. Keep your pants on.

Besides, you just haven't looked enough. I've found updates so far. Most, if not all, the majority of the population just hasn't bothered to look for.
Don't whine until you've actually looked everywhere.

I just need to update some signs and a couple more prices (Diamond axe, for example) and that will be complete.

Anyway, I promise new content this weekend.

You try to point out how I'm so stupid because I don't research every thread topic before making a statement, but at least I'm not the one who rescripted bugged scripts when he could have just used a clean backup of 2k1 and avoided all of that.

Why did you release it to the public if all you did was take a crappy version of 2k1, and fix the bugs? Why not release it after you've made new content? The only person that should have kept their pants on, is the person who decided it was a good idea to release 2k1 so early.

Hell, even I have decent backups of 2k1. I can't believe you couldn't get what you needed without having to rescript it all. That's just total crap.

No, I just said it's a good idea to do some reading on an issue before you blindly go forth bashing one of the sides. And, I'd call that behavior ignorant rather than stupid, as opposed to the case where you were behaving stupidly in the playerworlds forum by failing to use even the most basic logic to put together the simple statement "The Graalonline rules apply to graalonline servers."

Yes, Konidias, I have access to every single backup that Stefan and unixmad have made . Incorrect. Thus, I could not have 'used a clean backup of 2k1 and avoided all that'.

I took the most recent levels from around the time I quit, with some of the modifications made since then, and I fixed many of both the overt and apparent bugs. Also, see my below response.

That would be James, who you will note does not work with us any more. He opened the waiting area several weeks earlier than had been planned, which kind of threw off the rest of our schedule. Add into the equation some ill-timed for graal2001 vacations, and several other factors, and you have what we had to deal with. The majority of players wanted to have some 2k1, any 2k1, so as soon as it was somewhat presentable we released it. Knowing that, they played anyway. While I do not always go along with what people say, there are some cases where it is a good idea to - this was one of them.

Really? You have backups of graal2001's weapon NPCs after we got the new HP system (Specifically, bomy boots and diving)? Please, give them to me then! I'd like to see how well we did remaking it (And, at this point, I think we've even ended up with something better).

Nah. What's total crap is you blindly bashing something you admittedly know next to nothing about.

So, we can expect new things this memorial day weekend?
Yay

Oh, and Tseng, if you need someone to help with ideas such as new quests and etc, look me up, I can probably help you alot with any idea's you want and such. I cant script worth a crap, but I can come up with good quest ideas that can be done.

Oh, and one last thing, is the Fishy Quest comeing any time soon?

What does that have to do with this thread. Now you're just bringing in arguements from the outside since you can't back up your stupid mistakes.

Yes, Konidias, I have access to every single backup that Stefan and unixmad have made . Incorrect. Thus, I could not have 'used a clean backup of 2k1 and avoided all that'.

You managed to type this post, so obviously your fingers aren't broken. So why could you not type a request for a 2k1 backup? You don't need access to every single backup ever made. All you need to do is ASK. I'm sure that even if you couldn't get in direct contact with Stefan, you could ask other past 2k1 staff to either see if they had backups, or see if they could contact Stefan. You obviously made no effort to do so. Therefore, I don't accept the excuse that you had to spend all your time rescripting things. As that is a poor excuse.

But did James force you to release the server to the public? No. He opened the waiting area. So what? People were waiting for the re-release either way. Having an open waiting area isn't going to magically force you to release the server. I can possibly accept "vacations" or whatever, but I highly doubt that all the staff were taking vacations during the time.

Sometimes you have to not listen to the majority of the players. The majority of the players wanted GK released as soon as possible, and then when it was released, the majority of the players weren't very satisfied.

Really? You have backups of graal2001's weapon NPCs after we got the new HP system (Specifically, bomy boots and diving)? Please, give them to me then! I'd like to see how well we did remaking it (And, at this point, I think we've even ended up with something better).

Yes, yes I do. It's kind of late to ask me NOW. If you don't even know how well you did remaking it, why do you think you ended up with something better?

Nah. What's total crap is you blindly bashing something you admittedly know next to nothing about.

I'm not "blindly" bashing anything. As I'm sure you know, I was manager of 2k1 for quite a while. I know how things go, and I know what it takes to do what needs to be done. I know EVERYTHING about 2k1. So you're swimming up the wrong creek with that comment. I was even part of the revision project. I'm obviously not wrong about my statements, so it would be safe to assume I'm not blindly doing anything. It's quite clear that you made a bunch of big mistakes, which you don't seem to want to live up to.

1) You didn't attempt to get backups, even though it was obvious that you needed them
2) You wasted time rescripting things for no reason, just because of number 1.
3) You released the server too early, just because James decided to release a waiting area?

I'm not trying to bash you at all, I'm simply retaliating because you think that your excuses are credible. Nobody held a gun to your head and made you release 2k1 with no new content. People aren't going to explode if you don't open the server because the "majority" wants it that way. I totally don't buy the "we had to fix scripts" excuse. As I've made it quite clear how it would have been easy to get a backup. Guess how I got my backup? OMG I LIKE ASKED STEFAN AND HE GAVE IT TO ME! Real hard work there!

Please don't insult my intelligence and try to tell me I'm ignorant, when you can't even do such simple things.

Look, I'm not trying to flame you or start an arguement, I'm just very unhappy that you wasted time doing that stuff when you could have been making conent, so that us players could have something to be doing right now, instead of twiddling our thumbs or baking bread for less money.

Why can't you just admit that you should have tried to get backups? It's not like it's going to kill you to be wrong. You can get so anal sometimes it's not even funny. God forbid I point out mistakes that you made. I'm sorry if you got offended by this, but sometimes it's the only way to get through to people. I'm sure if if I would have gone about telling you in a polite and quite manner, you would have just tried to shun me off with some kind of witty and intelligent remark, as if you had it all under control since day one.

Well, oh wise purveyor of all knowledge, here's the thing:

I did try to get the backups from Stefan.

He was busy, then he was getting ready for his vacation, and didn't have the time. Then, by the time he came back, it was pretty much too late, since we'd pretty much rescripted them all already.

Again, Stefan isn't the only person in the world with backups. I said you should have asked the old managers of 2k1. I mean they did work there at one time, and I'd imagine more than likely they would have backups of the server from that time, much like I do.
