as opposed to the case where you were behaving stupidly in the playerworlds forum by failing to use even the most basic logic to put together the simple statement "The Graalonline rules apply to graalonline servers."
What does that have to do with this thread. Now you're just bringing in arguements from the outside since you can't back up your stupid mistakes.
Yes, Konidias, I have access to every single backup that Stefan and unixmad have made
. Incorrect. Thus, I could not have 'used a clean backup of 2k1 and avoided all that'.
You managed to type this post, so obviously your fingers aren't broken. So why could you not type a request for a 2k1 backup? You don't need access to every single backup ever made. All you need to do is ASK. I'm sure that even if you couldn't get in direct contact with Stefan, you could ask other past 2k1 staff to either see if they had backups, or see if they could contact Stefan. You obviously made no effort to do so. Therefore, I don't accept the excuse that you had to spend all your time rescripting things. As that is a poor excuse.
That would be James, who you will note does not work with us any more. He opened the waiting area several weeks earlier than had been planned, which kind of threw off the rest of our schedule. Add into the equation some ill-timed for graal2001 vacations, and several other factors, and you have what we had to deal with. The majority of players wanted to have some 2k1, any 2k1, so as soon as it was somewhat presentable we released it. Knowing that, they played anyway. While I do not always go along with what people say, there are some cases where it is a good idea to - this was one of them.
But did James force you to release the server to the public? No. He opened the waiting area. So what? People were waiting for the re-release either way. Having an open waiting area isn't going to magically force you to release the server. I can possibly accept "vacations" or whatever, but I highly doubt that all the staff were taking vacations during the time.
Sometimes you have to not listen to the majority of the players. The majority of the players wanted GK released as soon as possible, and then when it was released, the majority of the players weren't very satisfied.
Really? You have backups of graal2001's weapon NPCs after we got the new HP system (Specifically, bomy boots and diving)? Please, give them to me then! I'd like to see how well we did remaking it (And, at this point, I think we've even ended up with something better).
Yes, yes I do. It's kind of late to ask me NOW. If you don't even know how well you did remaking it, why do you think you ended up with something better?
Nah. What's total crap is you blindly bashing something you admittedly know next to nothing about.
I'm not "blindly" bashing anything. As I'm sure you know, I was manager of 2k1 for quite a while. I know how things go, and I know what it takes to do what needs to be done. I know EVERYTHING about 2k1. So you're swimming up the wrong creek with that comment. I was even part of the revision project. I'm obviously not wrong about my statements, so it would be safe to assume I'm not blindly doing anything. It's quite clear that you made a bunch of big mistakes, which you don't seem to want to live up to.
1) You didn't attempt to get backups, even though it was obvious that you needed them
2) You wasted time rescripting things for no reason, just because of number 1.
3) You released the server too early, just because James decided to release a waiting area?
I'm not trying to bash you at all, I'm simply retaliating because you think that your excuses are credible. Nobody held a gun to your head and made you release 2k1 with no new content. People aren't going to explode if you don't open the server because the "majority" wants it that way. I totally don't buy the "we had to fix scripts" excuse. As I've made it quite clear how it would have been easy to get a backup. Guess how I got my backup? OMG I LIKE ASKED STEFAN AND HE GAVE IT TO ME! Real hard work there!
Please don't insult my intelligence and try to tell me I'm ignorant, when you can't even do such simple things.
