Release date for PlayerWorld hosting

We will release the Beta version of PlayerWorld hosting Monday June 23 (Yes it's June not July), to test it or create a Player World you will need a VIP account.

Since everyone want cheap price, I have drop some plan, like Web hosting.

Basic PlayerWorld hosting cost will be a fixed cost of $59 for 6 month or $99 for 1 Year, there will be some restriction on memory and CPU you can use. Other more expensive packages will let you use more memory and CPU for NPCserver...

There will be 3 groups of PlayerWorld based on a internal calculation (see later in this message how) .

First Group will be visible for everyone, it will be the top 3 PlayerWorld, they will be hosted for free and will have some privilege (will announce it later) .

Second Group will be visible for everyone but trial player will not be allowed to play, it will be a group of 4 PlayerWorld and they will be hosted for free also.

Third group will be invisible for everyone and will be reserved for Gold and VIP player.

When you just order a PlayerWorld hosting you start in the Third group.

Each Month the last of the first group will go in the second group and the first of the second will go in the first group.

The PlayerWorld Team will decide what server go from the second group to the Third group.

For the calculation of point it will be based on the 3 servers you play the most, the server you play the most receive 3 points, second 2 points and last 1 point.

Then based on your subscription status we will calculate the real rating:

If you are gold it will be : Number of point X 3
If you are vip it will be: Number of point X 2
If you are Lifetime classic it will be: Number of point X 1

I just have one complaint, July 23rd? That seems so far away and I'm impatient but I'll get over it.

But really I can say one thing I'm definatly getting a playerworld.

Does that $59 for 6 months include an npc server?

One last question if I buy a year can I have a month free?

And Unix thats great. Everyone else didn't see the prices planned, they were ALOT higher, im glad Unix found a way to satisfy both ends of the deal, as more people will buy it now its alot cheaper.

Unix maybe you can have webhosting, but as a seperate option, as some people may still want that, while others may not.

Thats less than $10 a month ($9.83, around £6 which is dirt cheap and wouldn't propose many problems)

Also Unix:
Are you still giving the current people online the certain amount of hosting for free, I think it was 6 months before, have you scrapped that or changed the time?

And how do you wish for the PWA to work around this, as it will be different with different rules, possibly prices, prosedures etc.

Well I heard that testing through PWA will be cheaper for hosting possibly, or some benefits.

Also the PWA, or so it was said a few weeks ago, would put the PWs on list or take them off to become visable.

And someone needs to keep the servers legal and within the rules..

I have many too why more need hirring. But out of the ones that were hired, only two were considered for the 4th member, but I think thats been scrapped, hopefully there are some good people out there for the team who didn't apply before. Anyhow...

This one a friend made a long time ago. The style is probably outdated nowadays, but it's quality stuff. Plus I'm going to pay for hosting so, there shouldn't be too many restrictions on level quality as long as it's playable.

I think there are restrictions on becoming visible on the playerlist. Otherwise you will just be invisible but still players can log on I think.

I think he means that if you just want one hosted and not public, then only gold and VIPs can get on it.

And as far as I know someone will have the powers, other than Unix and Stefan to switch them from private to classic (That was only in talk though) and then classic can play if you get put on that list...

You got it! Thats the idea, although it doesnt have to be a PW you can just have some server space, for developing your scripts/levels etc..

I wasnted someone to clarify this matter on the PWA,or someone will be looking to see if your UC playerworld your paying for is up to quality? Why does it matter if we are paying for it?Or will the PWA be checking on it to see if it can be public or what?I'm a little confused.

If you want to go public tests have to occur. And I am saying SOMEONE has to be checking up on the servers to make sure that they are within the rules, as there will be rules still.

You have to have VIP when you register for hosting. I doubt you would be removed if you dont keep buying VIP, as your paying for hosting.

And you have to have either VIP/Gold to go on hosted-payed private PWs.

Idea:
You should be able to add $x ontop to let classic accounts play too. So lets say its $1-2 extra per month, you can have classic member accounts on your hosted PW.

Also, is this gold/vip to play going to stop classic accounts going on RC too?

Maybe:

First group of PWs: All Accounts
Second: No Trial
Third: No Trial + Classic

Also the PWA havent talked about this too much yet *starts thread* but the PWs will not just be done on playercount, alot of other things will be put into consideration =D

Ok, thanks for the updates Unixmad. Now I cant wait until the 23rd. But its only a week away so I suppose it wont kill me to wait. Although I'll be interested to see the packages with the NPCServer and what not as that's something I will definatly be needing.

And yeah I suppose it wont be too much for an NPC-Server, considering most people will want/need one.

She'll have a 5 hour window in which to beat me. (I sleep from 12 to 5 some times less) If not I can pretty much gaurantee I'll be first. Seeing as how I usually hit the refresh button alot while sitting bored at work. =X

I just thought of another question. Approximatly how long after purchasing will it take to get our server up? Either way I plan on buying mine as soon as its released.

Well the sooner it gets up, the sooner they get an income. So I'd imagine that it would be quick, maybe there will be a day each week for putting them all up, or maybe just as he gets them..

Question: Some of us have both Gold and VIP so does this count as 3+2 points?

Spark nothing has been said about the proposed income as it was in the past but based on a point system not income.

Also who is judging what 7 PWs go up first and their positions on the list? And what will this be based on?

Same here, from the sound of it. Only like 4 (or 7?) of the current PWs will make it, then the rest shut down? Or go UC? Will there still be UC? Or is the third list the "crap bin"?

Hmm but judging by what you said, there will only be seven visible playerworlds online? Four in the #2 group, and three in the #1 group? So all #3 group playerworlds are invisible (like private pw's are now)?

If you're only allowing four playerworlds in the #2 group, how is any #3 group playerworld supposed to take over their position?

The internal rating system is interesting though... This is going to be automated or something? (Like dynamically repositioning the pw's in the list according to their "rank")

It would be neat to see the internal rankings of all the online playerworlds. Like which one has the most points and stuff.

Like the others have asked, what is going to happen to current playerworlds, and also, what is going to happen with all the private playerworlds?

Oh I see, nevermind... Each month the playerworlds get a chance to go up or down a group, heheh.

Erh, shouldn't the really bad playerworlds be the ones that anyone can play, and not the special ones in the #1 list? I mean, what will make people want to buy an account if they can play on the best playerworlds for free

Uhhh no dude, he's talking about the manager having to pay, not the players. The number one and two positions are for gold/vip people only. Meaning you have to have a gold or vip account to play those servers. The third group is invisible, but supposedly gold/vip can access it (like private pw's)

The manager doesn't have to pay for their playerworld if it's in the top 7.

I understand this, but what happens to the playerworlds in the top seven, who haven't paid, when they fall below the top seven? Do they have to pay if they fall out of the ranking or what? Because I mean, you're switching them each month, meaning it could only take them a month to move back up in the top seven again, and it would be silly to make them pay 99 to 59 dollars just for one month.

I'm sure a few of the top seven will eventually fall below, so are they going to have to pay? I mean, that's kind of strange, it's like you have to pay no matter what really, unless you can maintain an extremely high point rating.

It seems like a constant battle to stay alive, heheh.

The ones that go to group 1 are decided by being at the top of group 2, so nobody really chooses them :P

Correct me if I am wrong but it looks to me like only 7 PWs will be playable at a time unless you have a Gold/VIP account and can play the ones in Group 3. Weird as it may sound , group 3 sounds like the catch all trash bin of waiting PWs to get to the visible list. So why would someone with a Gold / VIP account want to play those servers? Seems to me these are the ones that will get the least amount of traffic.
