Arrow Playerworld News!

Oh yeah, you all are anxiously awaiting what will happen from here on out.

So well here is what is supposed to happen. Do not sit here and take this to heart and word for word. This is SUBJECT TO CHANGE

I figured I would post something about everything so people are aware of things.

Playerworld Staff: There will be hirings when the new format comes up see new format below

Playerworld Submissions: There will be a whole new way to do things and how things will happen in the near near future

Now since I gave you the vague information time for a little more indepth.

So for playerworlds. 2 Options

Submitting your world as a free server (unsure if these will remain completely in the near future) which will basically be strict and to the point. If it isn't in the mind of the reviewers, that the world you created is better than the worlds that are in place, then it can simply be rejected on that alone. So it will be like it always was, submitting it and such, yet the process will be much much much more strict in terms of reviewing, and a team that will come together in the future, will decide how it's all done and set out to be.

Secondly, is the pay for your server option. The Pay for your server options costs a little bit per month with a setup fee. You get webhosting, your world, and other materials to make it work.

Graal will NOT administrate your worlds. You can sit there and fire whomever you want, when you want to, don't have to follow anything but the world rules when they are released. The world rules are about 5 core rules that MUST be met. In turn this will make the rules for FREE worlds much stricter, so be prepared for a huge crack down on that.

So paying for your world ensure your world goes up that instant you pay for it. It is a monthly plan, but the key catch is, the more people that play your world, the better. Because in the new UPGRADE feature, people can select your world and in turn give some money to the online bank of the world, thus making it last longer and keeping it up for people who love and enjoy the world can see it through.

This is all tentive, but I believe there will be a Playerworld Review Team, and a Playerworld Inspections team.

The Review team will consist of 4 people. To be named later. The Inspections Team will consist of how many FREE worlds there are left. Basically I cannot be everywhere at once, these inspections will have specific worlds to monitor and report back to myself so we can come up with solutions. The Inspectors, may be able to do more but it's all tentive on that.

So the question remains....When will this happen? heh...as if I know? It's supposed to happen shortly, but we all know things take longer than expected, so what I say is, do not hound me for a job. Asking me just ensures me ignoring you and just saying he doesn't deserve this. Basically I am telling you now that I am unaware of when this will happen. So when it does happen, I will post again notifying you of how to apply, if there will be an application. Possibly hire 2 people as head of the positions first, then make an application and we'll go through it so everyone is equal.

I know some may or may not like this. It's subject to change. People like the idea of paying for their own world and making it however they want to do it. Plus Graal will possibly give money to the best paying server if they are ranked #1 for that month or something, possibly getting a free month of service or something. Anyhow. Hope this works, unsure if things will work out the way as planned, but as of now, this is how it is, so we all know how Graal works, it's always changing.

it is a good idea, for player worlds that are well made and worth to be on, but some worlds would go down because they cant pay for it, that might be a downfall.

I am unsure if the free worlds are going to be forced to pay but if people want their server up private or whatever, then there will be a payment plan for that, but if you want your world up the free way, then it will be subjected to testing, and where it let go before, it will not. Thus why the staff hasn't been chosen till this all happens. It is like a freeze on the worlds.

Some worlds that got passed that needs to be reviewed. I need to get them asap if you are reading :P

There should be like this:

When you submitt your world you decide gold or silver.

Silver: You submitt your world free, it needs to be passed by 2 reviewers and it's head. Then you need to pass it.
When online, it will get checked everyday for copyrights and stuff.

Gold: You pay 20$ a month, and you get reviewed by you. Once it's up, you start paying. You get webhosting and other stuff.
You also get a new NC (The one kingdoms have) And will be put in a "Payed" list.

I think that including webhosting will be a great idea as it will be more woth the price of hosting a PW. Anyway, I also think that there should be a scheme on not only PlayerCount but development as alot of PWs do lots of work but they go un-noticed and deserve maybe a free month etc..

Cynical had one of the accounts "hacked" and someone uploaded some porn. It was taken care of. No need to press it on further.

I think PW's should have some scompetition. Like maybe only 10 PW's at a time and if the player count on a certain PW on th list drops below a certain amount, that PW is replaced, I mean, we can'y have 1 million PWs out there with an already low graal playerbase.

Yes this is one of the bigger problems. Nemesis im sure will look into it further when he has a team. And anyway the inspecting team could look over that and see who needs to go. But it is posasible we could have 1millions PWs, if they all want to pay. So paying could make player count spread worse, but if there paying then they are aloud to be up.

Hmm, I guess, you could keep that typing in option for all those payed PW's and the top 10 could actually be on the server list. I mean, this would have it so only if you knew about a payed PW then you could play it and I guess, you could keep track of those payed PW's and they could be the one replacing the main serverlist PW's. I don't know, its up to Nemisis.

Didn't full get that. But first of all:

1.) I doubt Nem will limit PWs to ''top 10'' it would be annoying as PWs would jsut be on and off all the time, its not worth the bother, either stay or go.

2.) Paid PWs are Paid for, they pay for the right to be online, take as long as they want, set a quality THEY want, can lamost do what they want, you cant limit paying clients to a ''top 10'' scheme it doesn't make sence, if they pay they want what they should have, if you take that away from them, they wont pay.

I guess I didn't make myself clear, I apologize for that. Currently for private PW's you have to type the name of the PW in the box to get to the PW, that what I am saying can be used for paid PW's, now keeping track of the playercount on each playworld can not be that hard and a system could be set up so that the top 10 PW's are automaticaly on this "top-ten" list or main severlist.

Think of this also, A PW (paid host) The Owner dislikes you; he bans you from playing there. Graal will do nothing about this on a paid server, they don't follow Graal Rules or as they are now anyway. BUT in order for them to be popular doing corrupt things like this will not be to their advantage at all but will run players away. I think if a server is going to be let to govern pretty much themselves then ANY server having "mature content" , like profanity must have a disclaimer on onlinestartlocal that this PW has mature content and is not suitable for younger players. BUT I am sure that ALL PWS will NOT still be allowed to have ANY sexual content at all. Letting them run themselves and letting them run amok is 2 different things.

I don't really see anywhere this is mentioned, but i think the user agreement will still apply globally unless they ammend it and mature content should be outlawed period. You have to be 13 to play, so keep it PG-13 or below. Banning based on personal feelings is thier choice, some people should really be banned even if they are within the parameters of the official "rules" and what not... They have to know if they're going to be jerks they'll be gone.

As for the serverlist, this is my personal opinion. If i'm paying money each month to Graal for my playerworld i want it on the server list. I just had an inspiration. What if rather than hiding the worlds and only people with RC being able to really see them all, why not just make a third tab? We have gold and classic, we could just add a "payed worlds" type tab in the server selection screen. I'd certainly settle for that. For that guy that wanted competition between worlds, the payed worlds could compete for top of their list.

Nem, can you provide a ballpark, off the record estimate for how much they'd want to charge? I saw $20 USD a month up there and multiplied by 12, I would not pay $240 a year for a Graal server... Personally, i would want to keep it at most somewhere under $50 a year... I don't know how greedy they're going to be about this paying for worlds thing... Maybe they could charge you more based on size... I think a world having 10 levels for really lag free sparring (my idea ) shouldn't have to pay as much a month as a server with 5000 levels taking up 500 times the space on the server, not to mention npcs, graphics, etc...

Are all these servers going to appear on the list? Geez, if they do the list will be so darn crowded. I absolutely hate this idea with my whole heart.

The price should be high so that nobody can single-handedly start a playerworld.

LOL 50 dollar a year is too little.thats like a little more than a account. I think 240 a year is a reasonable price for a pw and I heard if people upgrade because of yuor pw you get referals and make some money

This is clearly a scheme to make more money. Unixmad doesn't care about the quality of the game, he just wants more money.

Don't take my word for it, but I spoke to unixmad a few weeks ago about this, he said a 50 dollar start up fee, then 20-30 a month onwards, that wasn't a set price, just a thought by unixmad.

Ok why not this? If Unixmad doesnt want all money and truely wants better playerwolrds then he will do something to this effect. First make a .exe file to make npc server files work offline.
Second paying for playerworlds? Get real man. People want playerworlds but having them pay to have a crappy one up then having a million ones on the playerwolrd list will not solve the problem. Instead do this, make 1 server and let them pay for a folder on this server and they can have only so much mb of stuff for how ever much they payed for. No one can look in to other people's folder and people can have all the levels and playerwolrds they want on one sevrer. Also the person would log on an RC and they would only be able to edit in their folder and not look in anyone elces folder. If the person wants he can invite someone to play levels in their folder. This way its like paying for a server but its all in 1 server rather then a million different servers........

Not everyone will be able to pay for them, and besides I hear from Nemesis that there will be a limit on how many of them there can be.

there's no way in anywhere that it costs them 50 bucks to set it up and 20-30 a month is as much as i pay for cable internet, it's going to be that even if you're skilled you can't make a PW but if you're rich and stupid you can... quality = down the crapper ;(

I really hope they reconsider this

Plus, it's going to get jacked up every year like accounts are and how much do you think you'll get from referals? i'd estimate 3 bucks on each account, max 5...

hmm. I wonder if those top 10 would be willing to pay good level makers and scripters to work for them. It's a nice blackmail to use aginst the top 10 if you make good levels or npc's.

When I gather more details or if Unixmad himself posts here to correct me...Then details will be given. Until then it's made for people to know whats coming in the future, so you are aware of things and can prepare your servers accordingly. The price is approx. 10-20 usd. But the fact is...you won't be paying 10-20 a month because there will be goals to meet, and money prizes to help pay for the worlds per month. That is the aim to basically

Its still only 10-20usd, it will be slightly more but by 1-1.5usd MAX so its not much of an increase.

Devil has a point here, what if we miss a payment? Does Unix run to our house and take chairs and dishes to the value of 10-20USD, lol.

wow, my first post on these forums
=O

ok, i got some questions...

#1. will servers which are already online have to pay as well?
#2. you said that the top servers will get a free month, or something? will this be only the top paid servers, or top servers out of all of them?

anyways, i agree with the "paid servers" tab idea... you could just have an icon next to the under construction PW's...

also, someone said you might get 'only' $3 from an upgrade... but if you have to pay only $10 a month... that means you just have to get 3 or 4 people a month to put your server down when they upgrade.... that's not too bad (added in with the more players = less money thing)

I don't think this will lower the quality at all... since now new servers will die out if no-one plays them, since the owner won't want to pay for it to stay up... and if they are willing to pay to keep an empty PW up, more power to them
<3

oh, and to MG... if you read what Nem said... he said that even the paid worlds would have to follow the graal rules
=X
so i dunno what you're so worried about...

and server managers can already jail/ban someone for ANY reason they want... since i went on Val... and got jailed just for wearing my (Dragon Knights) tag... since the guild was not 'approved' of

no they cant either....some servers have different rules, but that doesnt mean they can jail/ban for whatever reason they choose, like if they simply dont like a person....they have to have a valid reason

This is clearly a scheme to make more money. Unixmad doesn't care about the quality of the game, he just wants more money.
ok, just how do you propose unixmad gets the money to make the quality of graal even better?
I dont think letting people buy space is a good idea unless there are strict rules, but from what I understand, the rules for the purchased space will be slack compared to the "free" servers...I hope I am wrong
But I do agree that if this is done, it be a hefty price to keep the crap out

yea, and you can change the rules however you want...

I was also banned on Val, because 'ETD' is not a "real" name
=X

i mean, comeon!

anyways, you can BS a reason for banning someone easily, since there are so many loop holes in the rules...

and besides, if no-one plays that server because of bad management, then the owner has to pay more money to keep it up... and i see no problem with it if they want to pay for an empty server
=x
just gives graal more money to work with
