Alright, we are all happy with how Kingdoms is turning out, but something is still missing...
Day and Night!
Yes, much like 2K1, Kingdoms needs a day and night function! I'm getting tired of being in perpetual day, so perhaps it's time that the Kingdom Developers consider putting in Day and Night. Here's an example of how it would work
Day and Night would last 1 hour each, and start with Dawn at around 7 AM and Dusk and sundown at 6 PM, 7 PM would be dusk, and 8 PM is full night.
Day would go from 6 AM to 6 PM, and Night would run from 6 PM to 6 AM, and would be signified by light.
At Dawn, things get a little brighter, by noon, the over world would look how it is now. When 6 PM rolls by, the light starts to fade a bit to a reddish orange color, at 7PM, the reddish color would change to a darker color, and at 8PM, you have night, which would continue to get darker until Midnight, then begin to get brighter at 6 AM. Night would not be represented by a dark shaded color, but instead a dark blue shaded color, so that people can still see.
Besides the cosmetic look, new events would happen at Day and Night. For instance, at Day, you have monsters that you see now, Mushrooms, Bommys, etc. But when Night comes, the Muchrooms, Rabits, and Bommys are all changed to night time monsters, such as bats, rats, and Night bommys.
Towns would also change as well. Some shops will close at night, such as the Post office at 6 PM, the Smithee at 7 PM, and general stores at 9PM. While others, such as the card house and select general stores, would stay open all night. Now, add Taverns to the town, which only open at 8 PM, where people can go to relax, get a drink, and hang out.
Role Playing would also be made more realistic. Night attacks could be waged or used as stealth, and meetings can be held at night or day depening on when the leader decides.
The time would be represented by the standered 12 hour clock, which would be found below the stat bar. So when it's 8 AM, it would show as 8:00 AM, and when it's 6:55 PM, it would be shown as 6:55 PM. Days would last 2 hours real time, seeing as Day and Night would both last 1 hour each.
A Day/Night System like this would make Kingdoms much funner and more realistic for Role Playing, not to mention make it pretty cool and funner then it already is. |
