Question RAM vs. Graal lag

Well, whenever my computer got an upgrade, i've been noticing terrible lag when I play graal. I mean like everyone lags. And the funny thing is my modem goes the same speed it did when my computer didn't get an upgrade, sometimes even faster. Soo I know that isn't it. But lately my computer has been getting alot of hangups cuz my RAM keeps running out of memory. Right now my RAM is 128MB, but 32 of that is shared with my onboard bideo card, soo basically i only have 96 . Could this be the reason why graal is lagging up soo bad?

Yes. Graal, when on the 2002 server, sucks up more than HALF of my memory (256). This condition is known as the lyci-- er, glutton syndrome

What colour resolution do you use? Cos when my comp uses 32-bit colour it lags but on 16-bit it runs fine, and I've got like 256 megs of ram.

I'm telling you right now. And you'd better listen, since I say this to most players all day on RC.

RAM isn't everything. Neither is MHZ/GHZ.

Direct X versions are important.

Video cards are important.

Video card memory is important.

Keeping your Graal files in order is important.

ScanDisk your entire harddrive, if not only just the Graal files.

Disk Defragmenter has been known to help.

Remember that resources are also a problem occasionally too, running too many programs slows down everything on your computer.

Disk Defragmenter/ScanDisk doesn't work. I know i've used those several times while graal was on my computer soo that doesnt work. I have an up to date DirectX driver
I also cut back on programsn and that doesnt work either
I have a 1.2 ghz processor
My video card is 32 bits, and it shares 32 MB of memory, but that can leap up to 64, and possibly 128 if i had more than 128 mb ram
And how would keeping my graal files in order help anything?

512 MB RDRAM, 64 MB GFX Card, and I experience absolutely no lag on 2k2 at all, not after 40 minutes, not ever.
