val's glory days (in my opinion)

who else remembers when val started as a leveling server?

you could kill rabbits with giant teeth, globlins, orcs and some wierd little creatures.all stats and weapon mastery was chosen by the players. there was also drowning timer in the water so you had to buy rafts. there was a lot of pirate action going on it was so much fun. one of my most memorable momments was boarding a nation boat and slaughtering the whole crew. the boat then just kept going right off the map and they were mad.

they also started to jail you for killing rpers, ive never been jailed so much in my graal life on one server.

in my opinion val has the BESt levels and art. the atention they put in their levels and decorations was insperational... sometimes you could even find weapons by exploring maps.

however, they chose to go the path of chat based rpg game.

I wish they would go back to level up then i would gladly play val.

I liked Klaria before it became Val, then I quit. o.o
Back when you could say -1000 gold, and the bank would give you money.. then there was another way to do it after they fixed it.

But it was more fun, wasn't roleplaying but had classes...

val was a "chat based rpg game" before the relatively advanced RPG system came out. and yeah, i think that was val's peak. 2003/2004 it was constantly on the top 3 in terms of playercount and sometimes worked its way up to first place. i didn't rp but just being around that community and running/sailing around a 430958430 level gmap was interesting. the rpg system was ahead of its time and paved the way for maloria and later zodiac.

agreed.

after a while they promoted exploring their MASSIVE MAPS by adding random spawning items (mostly rusty blades) on the map and random towns with unique weps and new level spots less croweded. once i acutally found duel axe or maces on a tree stump in a orc town.

I also did not RP but it was fun slaying them and getting jailed for short periods of time.

one day clash turned me into this wierd green dragon and it was a type of jail. It just bounced non stop gonig from the top of the map right trough the bottom and repeat.

It would make me pass over the towns and people would wonder wtf i was.


that old val was the most fun ive had on Graal, its the server that got me hooked. it also was my insperation to get into dev.

I am not sure whos to blame for removing the level up system but i blame clash.
