I like it, only thing I can think of to maybe improve it is to work on the shininess of the gem a bit. I'm not usually a fan of black, except in the case of outlines, seems to work but it might look better without.

That shield can't be sturdy if it has a gem going through in the middle.

Certainly much sturdier than the gingerbread and easter basket shields, I would imagine.

I really like it, but I worry that it bears a little too much resemblance to a Wing Shield. In fact, at first glance that's what I thought it was.

If you're wanting to make a shield featuring a crystal, why not make it entirely crystalline instead? You've already got a good shape for doing so. You'd just need to recolor the white portions to a similar color. I've attached an example of what I mean below.

I actually made this to be an edit of the Angel Shield. However, I made it with the ASoD in mind. it's white n blue instead of black n red. I also made it more linear compared to ASoD's ruggedness.

With that recolor it can be an entirely different shield though.

I really like the recolored shield. I agree with sean it makes it look like an entirely different shield. Maybe a new easter shield item could be added. Who knows

NO it's for me only! haha jk i wish it could be used as the new Angel Shield gfx. But I definitely wouldn't mind if it was a new shield. Perhaps blue/red/green/purple/rainbow colors? hehe

Flashes a bit quick, but it's nice. Perhaps a more subtle glowing effect would make it better than flashing. (slowed down and passes through another frame or two of color)

I liked the original because I like things white and clean, but both could make nice shields.

I'll keep playing around with the animation 'til it looks nice. Here's another that's much more subtle.

I've also changed which parts of the shield change color just to see what it looks like.

Yeah that's a sexy glow, I think it would be nicer on the other part though, that looks like it's the gem shards part and stuff.

Here's what both animations look like linked together.

First the blue portions get brighter, then they fade down and the purple parts do the same. Should I stick with this or go back to a more flicker-y animation?

I say just slow down the first image you posted and retain those same colors. Wish i knew how to do those effects.

Honestly, and in my opinion, I feel the first one was better because it seemed like the brace holding the jewel was not glowing which seems real to me.

Then I loved the second one because it slowly changed... either different colors or the same variety of colors would be nice... I think if both were combined you have a great shield.

The shape it self, which I don't think you are concerned about opinions on, I can't say I like very much... Definitely love the idea! Great transitioning as well!!

I love greens... works very well with black even without being a gif..
8D Fits the design.. that or the colors make me not care about it, I'm not sure.. If I didn't dress like a noob, I would totally wear it.

I don't either because the black portion makes it hard to see details on the shield, but my vote doesn't really count since I'm competing with my own versions. However, I did include a slightly lighter green recolor in the middle of the color-changing one I made.

If it ever were to be added, I'd like to see poison resist and pow. would be nice with some speed too so we can give them mages nicer items.

I'd like to see this as a shield for casters as well. But I think we should push harder to get the penalties of poison reduced instead of just putting resist poison on a totally rockin' shield. These would be my suggestions, for both names and statistics:

These would be nice to see added. Maybe we could start a new series of shields like the winter frost shields. If we could get 6 new recolored ****s with names and the stats to go with each.

should be fixed through magic scaling and melee damage nerfs. not through overpowered stats.

also nothing is stopping mages from using rows. people are so dumb tunnel visioning for 30dex 30 power like it's the best.
as for sustenance melees have the same issue. theres the cloak of sust and the amulet. or you can go bile (which is prob the best mage god anyway. nerf)
