New Gun System Idea

Okay so I've had this idea about a new gun system, I've never made a script n such so idk if it's able to be done or not. Anyway, You have gun class sets, as in hand gun, rifle, shot gun, assault? Then when you buy those guns you get so many points to add to certain areas of the gun like dmg, reload, rate of fire, freeze, spread some guns would have a lower max on things then others, as in you can put more spread on your shot gun than you could your hand gun and things like that. So in all you can have a balanced gun, fast gun and things of that sort. You can also reset the stats for the gun and start over if u wanted.

It would get rid of the whole buying/selling guns because that's really what's hurting era. Era shouldn't be about money, It's a gun related pking server. I think if this can be done it'd be awesome.

Similar ideas have been proposed in the past, but none of them have ever been brought into consideration for implementation. I don't think your idea would really make anything that much better on Era because players will just purchase a vast amount of upgrades or they would just give up on it as a whole. In addition, your system would require a lot of scripting which could be better put towards Era Dev, in my humble opinion.

This sounds pretty much like Dungeon Defender's system, Just take away the fact in DD that you have to put in your money to upgrade the item to make it better, It's a really cool concept, but before I could say anything, mind telling me a rough draft idea of how this system would work? How many points would there be? Could I entirely eliminate the freeze on a gun if i dump all the points? I'm just curious to know more.

Well it all depends on what kind of gun you have really. The only gun I really think would be able to get rid of all the freeze would be the hand gun and about how many points you get all depends ig if it even comes into affect and how much the staff would spread out the points as in lots of freeze and none so this is really just a in its idea form. If I had any idea on how to script or how the numbers of the guns worked I would be able to give you more an idea but I don't

I think there are better systems (I.e: EXP-based Gun Unlock System + Classes) to consider when you basically want the server to focus on PK and money to have no effect on what kind of gun you're able to use.

Era is a modern server, money has to be incorporated. If not, then give everyone an item for free? Then you'll complain that everyone has the best guns like mp5/aug/souizen/s6. Then you all cry and say "omg back to old system this dumb".
