Era's Graaloween 2009!

Carve out your pumpkins and toss 'em on your head, because Graaloween has come to Era!

Over the next few days and weeks leading up to Halloween, we'll be holding events and releasing some new and fun prizes for this season! We've also switched over to the autumn tileset and trees, which is a nice change in scenery after a long summer.

To get started with our main event, log on Era and speak to Jacob near unstick me. He'll tell you your mission. As of today, all that you need is a "Prized Pumpkin". After that, anything else you collect is all your own. Once you get a prized pumpkin, visit Jason again and he'll give you a fun toy to play with!

To gather pumpkins, buy yourself a shovel down at the Seashell Shack and start digging in the grass (not on the beach). You might want to hold on to your other pumpkins, though, because as Jacob said, they'll be used on Halloween eve for something.

We'll be releasing more later this week and next!

To answer a few of the most common questions so far:
  1. The flashlight takes the same batteries as the normal one.
  2. You dig in the grass, not in the beach.
  3. There will be a purpose besides just the fun little toy you get today, but I'm not revealing what or how many pumpkins you need just yet.
  4. Lights can be disabled by pressing F3 and unchecking "Lights", then reconnecting.

I have to agree, I only have 525 $ and I don't want to spend it all on shovels..

That's really silly considering the only bearable way of making money is digging.

The price of a shovel isn't that insane. You can make a lot more than the 100 it costs to repair if you dig for shells.

Changed the repair cost to $50 (it actually was only $10 due to a typo instead of $100).

You could've done more for Holloween, this seems silly. Who buries pumpkins? rofl.

I'd imagine that being a chore. Could've done something like Monster Pumpkins that shoot out pies and you have to kill them, don't know something more interactive.

People HATE to work for money, but you expect them to indulge the idea of digging for an unknown prize? Good luck with that.

We also could have taken weeks to prepare with new graphics and stuff for a two-week event.

Our time is better spent elsewhere. No one is forcing you to participate.

So you say, but time will indeed tell. I hope wherever your time is being spent, its for the better, for Era's sake... it can't afford it to be otherwise.

Oh, that orange Graaloween at the top right hand corner of my screen sure seems to be nudging me into it, can you remove it or disable it?

I see this whole thing as a money sink, shovel prices and repair fees hiked, and a prize hinted but nothing saying there is one or you will get anything other then a "Gj" as reward. People will spend a large quantity of money trying to win because they hope what they get is good

There are no screenshots or impressive updates. The entire staff team is completely swamped with either work or school. There's not a lot we can get done, and when we get time, there are more important things to do than Halloween updates.

However, assuming the graphics are ready, we should have some prizes ready in the next few days.

I agree, why not do more for it? Era is losing people anyways..lol..why not give it a shot?

But maybe there will be more to come, halloween event-wise.

I do like the light effect for the gmap though
