Fix Alchemy Items for Balance!

As of now, one of, if not the biggest problem on Graal Kingdoms is the situation with alchemy items. In every MMORPG, there will probably be the issue of older players being way more leveled (if there's no level cap) and wealthier than the new players. In fact, mathematically speaking, if a new player comes to an MMORPG, and him and the older play equally good and often, it will be impossible for the newer player to catch up to the older one (unless there are outside factors to this situation...such as someone helping the newer player). This problem is already bad enough as it is, and is hard if not impossible to fix, but to add to this...On GK, older players had the option to freely produce alchemy items or buy them at competiting prices (with many people producing them...there was a market for it...). However, now such is not the case. An older player can charge as much as he want for alchemy items, and people rarely desire to sell their alchemy items. This needs to be fixed soon. I think alchemy items should be brought back. Noone wants their items deleted to balance it that way (at least I doubt anyone does). I don't know much about how alchemy items worked, but it seemed like they were produced from random recipes. If such is the case, that should be fixed. And if there were any other problems (I don't know what they were), for one I'd like to know what they were. And I'm sure they can be fixed. The important thing would be to have the items availible for production once again. Does anyone agree with there being a problem with alchemy items?

I agree that there should be something done about alchemy - and as far as I heard there are attempts to change the recipes to use avaliable items only. On another note - in theory, one day everyone will be at the same level, as the amount of exp necessary increases while the amount given by any given monster decreases with the level. While this may never be really achieved, it's possible in theory.

Yeah, I've thought of that before. But I didn't feel like putting much thought or effort into that post. What I was reffering to was exp itself, or a player's general status/worth (wealth, experience, skills, items...etc).

If you ask me they're already trying to fix it.
take the Full Helmet of Might for example
Str+1,Con+1,speed+1,int-1,ac+1,armour+16

This is really just a Ring of Fighting with armour and ac.
Now, there's the Evil bomy Lord helmet..+5 damage which is an IWD, and if you make it +5 that's another IWD.

If I had my choice, I go with Bomy lord helmet, BUT I'm stuck with my FHoM because I require the Str+1, so those with alchemy items are hurting too.

If I got a RoS then I'd toss the helmet, really

Well, that goes for one item, but as you said, bumy doesn't give speed, con or str. Also, for most items like goves or gaunlets, there isn't a replacement yet. I just hope there will be one soon.

Me being a priest and having my priest-ish crappy stats, the Mithril chainmail of Berwean is still the only armour that doesnt slow me down alot, infact it doesnt slow me down at all..it is still my best choice hands down.

If some armours or robes aimed at magic casters were released, that wouldnt slow me down, I'd drop my mithril chainmail in a heartbeat..

heres the situation with alchemy armor you guys:
Kaiser2 was making the new mudlibs and shortly after he finished the recipe's he went completely in active and no one has seen him on debug for an extended time (from my knowledge), i myself finished some of the items including the morning star (which you have seen in the game) and have also done most of the weapon GFX. with the stats kaiser also evened them out but weather or not it has indeed been updated i can not say.

I hope something will be done though soon - and I think there are enough otherwise useless items (save for selling them) right now. Say a cyclop's hand and 3 demon fingers are required for gloves a, a demon's hand and 5 cyclops fingers for gloves b - demons/cyclops arms for bracers, hearts for armour, etc, etc...

I can already see the next complaint too,
"My barbarian doesn't have high enough int to make the alchemy items and I'm still a newbie who can't buy them, this isn't fair!"

...really. It'll be the same thing if anything is taken/changed.

In my opinion, the only valid complain is that these items are unavaliable except for outrageous prices. I wouldn't mind paying 10k for a mithril, or more, similar to a ring of strife or something like that. So the problem is the number, and the resulting prices. It's not that everyone should have one, there should just be a larger supply - maybe from shops? °°

Barbarians shouldn't be doing alchemy. Thats why we have alchemists.

Oh, so you're saying that we should buy things from alchemists, also completely get rid of the alchemy spellbooks and scroll.

Also, you must of missed the last part of that complaint where it said "i'm a newbie who can't buy them"
