Would you mind if "toguild:" would not work anymore?

I'm having some trouble determining if this would be a huge issue for players or not.

The origins of the problem: the chat bar. I want to reskin it, but I don't want to stick to pointy edges, I want them rounded. This is not possible by just modifying the default chat bar, because the background color of a GuiTextEditCtrl can not be included with the image (feature request). This means I would have to create my own chat bar, which removes the default toguild and toall functionality. Alongside this change I would code a slash command which would basically work the same, but the guild messages would be shown in a message system similar to GK's.

The question is, would this be a big issue for you, as a player?

I think graal itself should move past the toguild: and the current player list.

There should be a chat box you can move around on your client that gives you a preview of what people are chatting about(in toguilds/masses). It could be closed on demand. It is really annoying to have to click every msg you get, especially when just trying to have a convo with your guild. New systems for both should come into play, with easier ways to send and recieve all msgs, as well as new features.

I would only mind if you didn't have a scripted means of achieving the same effect. This problem in general could be fixed multiple ways, so it's a shame this is even an issue.

toguild is definitely annoying when it's being abused / just for chatting. i guess it's fun when you're actually enjoying the conversation. however it comes in handy when you're planning an event or meeting or whatever. idk i have mixed feelings on it.

Pretty decent up until this. Those brief messages that GK, Zodiac and Era have are disgusting, would it be possible to still have it sent like a pm? You can opt to view those toguilds, ignore them, only read ones from certain people in your guild, etc etc. The on screen message is limited to "read me, ignore me but I'm still there", or completely miss all of them.

We could have had proper chat channels for a while, the only thing sticking to PMs is getting you is logging, and that could also be handled better.

Besides a new system coming into place with some of the things I mentioned above^ I'd bet a lot of people would like to see a way of global guild messaging.

I'd prefer scripted commands (like /tg on Era); it's a lot easier to chat with your guild (who has time to open PMs when we're crawling through sewers, planting claymores, and silently taking the elevator down to the lobby to slaughter the Cartels?

Same person who has time to divert their attention to a single corner, read a comment, and type a reply. The PM bubbles can wait until you have some free time. Why not implement it like the toall thing? A pm bubble still pops up, but the message displays on screen.

I'm sure it is possible to create a custom system which delivers messages through PMs, but those PMs would have to be delivered by the NPC Server.

If the command was disabled on a server that I frequent then yes, I would be bothered. Other than that I'm not so sure, but I assume you're aiming your concerns to potential regulars for your server.

toguild isn't a big deal to me as I never notice the bubbles, especially when your on a server like UN or Era that has so much spam mass messages that they are always covering them up. In addition, most people on zodiac use the custom command /guild anyways.
