Detailing issue.

Hi people, and yes, two topics in a short time.
I've been messing around with detailing styles, and I'm not sure what I should go for in my levels.
We have these options.

Oh, I know the pics1 level is bad, its just the detailing that counts.

A few pointers:

Don't stack grass over grass everywhere, it doesn't look very good. It's ok to have some consistent grass layering but it has to look good and not be overdone.

Detailing should be more rounded, your detailing is too square and is not very attractive. Detail is one of the main ways your level will be judged in terms of how nice it looks, so it's important to fix such styles.

The third screenshot has a lot of mushrooms placed in the middle of the grass, unless you intend to block that path off in purpose I always think it's best to keep blocking tiles off to the sides (in this case closer to the two trees).

Keep practicing, you will naturally develop your style.

In terms of the grass stacking, you're right... I overdid it there, but I had to make a square patch of land look less bland...

What about this?

And how would i make it more rounded?

If it doesn't bother you, could you post the level? I'll edit a small bit of it and show you.

The first snapshot posted looks good for the tileset, the modified tileset has soft colours so I would recommend that you use less grass with more detail such as flowers etc.
