Volcano!

So I haven't posted/been here since May of 2008. Hi guys!

Anyway, down to the topic. I making this volcano spell, for fun/for Maloria...whatever and I'd like some critique on the hole that opens up in the earth and ask for some suggestions in how I can draw the earth that is pushed up around it.

So here was my first try however long ago and I didn't really like the hole and the dirt was OK, but I thought I could do better.


And here's my latest try (a nice improvement aye?).


This spell was inspired in part by Chrono Trigger, when Lavos comes from underground to destroy everything.

I MEANT 2008, y'all aren't supposed to figure out time travel for another few years. But, I guess the cats out of the bag.
