Combing sprites in gani's

Stemming from the topic in the gani section... I'm aware there is a way.
My suggestion is that a button be placed in Graalshop that combines all the current sprites placed in the gani into one sprite and adds it to the sprite list.

Or like in Game Maker for their sprites they have it so that you have the image and you can have it divided and you can change how big you want the box to be which would save so much time making ganis. So lets say you have the image in a little picture box you click where you want the box to start then just adjust the size.

Though I suggest adding a 16x16 grid-line, to keep the accuracy. As well as have the grid spacing able to be customized.

Methinks there are, in fact, two ideas being discussed.
One: that we should be able to see the grid of sprites being added, which would indeed be nice.
Two: that we should be able to "flatten" a number of sprites into a single sprite-object...if memory serves we can add a gani As a sprite, though I have never really figured out how that meshes with sending params, etc. (if you have to add the sprite as "walk.gani PARAM1 PARAM2", or if it automatically just uses the calling gani's params and attrs, or if there's a way to give the sprite-gani different params for if you want a gani of yourself with a gani of another character standing on your head...etc).

Basically we need new editor tools. The end.

Actually... for sprites being added, I have an idea that would probably be a bit more precise... yet graphically easy.

Where it displays the image in a scroll box, you specify the width and height of the sprite you're adding, and you drag the 'cropping' box around the image, and click to add it. That way you don't have to worry about getting the exact coordinates of the box right. (As well as having a grid in the image as well, but I didn't feel like going through the drawing of that)


Also, I wouldn't mind, if * was in place on sprite number, having it added automatically at the end of the sprite list.

Wait, you're saying that we can (or eventualy could?) use ganis as sprites for another ganis? I've been trying to figure out if this feature actualy exists for about a month... I thought it was just a "future improvement" that would never come...
Couldn't find anything about it in newfeatures text files though

I'm quite sure you can to some extent: the old kingdom ganimovies would display over the kingdom anis. When they were set as param1 anyway. It was weird, I don't understand it, I'm calling it Undocumented.

You can use ganis as sprites but sadly, they are displayed over (on top of) the rest of the sprites no matter what layer you have the sprite (gani) at
Last I check this was a very very long time ago though so it may have been fixed by now? If it was, I would be insanely happy.
