Ive noticed quite a few hackers using x-y warpers on a few servers (GK, ERA, UN, etc) and i was wondering how you peeps feel about this?

It's annoying as hell. But you would think that was obvious

People should be using the hacker detection (tools?)

LOL, i hate those buggers that use it and stick themselves behind ERA gunshop counters and say "What would you like?" or when you shoot them they warp all over the place. (not just exit game)

Depends on an issue I already told Stefan, but he doesnt seem to do anything.
Either the coordinates are stored clientside, or you can trick the server and tell him through some clientside variables that you are not for example and x1;y1 but at x2;y2. I dont know myself, but I know how to change them.

Do you mean the old one or a new one? The old one is only scanning program titles...

I came up with a brilliant system for Era that detects it, process-list free. Nothing to do with that.

o rly? do tell.

And I don't see why you bothered to make a thread about this. It's not like this is some urgent, new epidemic. Theres no more hackers than there were years ago. Hell, theres less as I see it. Graal has slowly, but surely, gotten more secure. Not by much, but theres been enough cracking down on hacking that there aren't as many as there used to be. I can tell you there is a lot less hackers than on other games, percentage-wise.

Trust me on this. If anyone tries to hack on Era they are banned the same day.

I don't doubt it.

Aeon was probably the best, as far as hacker protection, that I've seen personally.

You get pwned if you try it on mine
If you're not staff, an NPC will tell me if someone is moving faster than a few tiles. It even counts how many times you've been tagged as a hacker, so if no one's online, we will see it later anyway
All servers should have that.
