Thumbs down Large blank spaces in G2k1

Hey everyone, my first day in the forums, try to excuse me if this has been talked about before, but what does everyone think of the Level Design in Graal2k1's world?

I first upgraded my account last night, and I gotta tell you it looks good in most areas, while terrible in others. I myself think the bad parts are where a single tile fills up an entire screen!

Back in the old day, a person would be whipped for doing such a lazy job, but I supose that was back then.

What does everyone else think? Is that now accepted as good work as long as the world is big, or do you find large single tile areas a sign of poor level design like I do?

there filling up the areas of trees slowly but surely
and its nmot like servers like G3K that they just try to fill it with anything there filling it up with good stuff
I know there is supposed to be a new town going up.
Ive no idea when though cause Stefan told me that there was gonna be a westen town (cowboys and that) put up to the left of the cable car thing that takes you across the water.

I have noticed that the level makers foucs heavily on NPC's, and as long as they are still working on filling up the world I will be happy with how it is currently.

Let us hope, that it never becomes as crowded as Graal Classic and we keep such words in our vocabulary as "Wilderness". They don't have to fill up a level with a house/town/quest/ect. in order for it to look good. I just got worried when I saw such large single tile spaces.

Large areas of only forest don't even bother me, as it adds a sence of realism to the world.

g2k1 is a work in progress.

Every few days new things are added to fill in space
i dont know why it wasnt planned out etc beforehand though
i mean the quests are sort of.. dumb
look at the first one for example
you go in a temple thing and do various things to make big giant rocks to move
then the other human/bomy one
its a bunch of fish that need you to save them or something

Why not some planned out quests?

I think graal isn't tring to focus on one groups tastes. They are tring to do everything for every group.

action for the action group
RPing for the RPing group
Not a lot of room for the PKers

Im sure if graal wanted to they could do a specific type of world but its hard when you have to satisfy paying customers I think thats why they did Player worlds, so another group of people can do a specific server and GO not have to worry about it.

But then again a lot of these player worlds are designed horribly and the levels make me wonder why Stefan accepts that kind of crap.

Was that for me Valder?

Anyway, more on the specific groups, that is intresting. Normaly action comes with fighting, and since PK'ing is not looked well upon, and there doesn't apear to be a single baddy in the entire world to slay, then sparing is the only source of action.

I will try to find a quest when possible, but so far it has become a quest to find a quest. (Not a fun thing to do)

All of Graal's worlds are a work in progress, they don't need demote quality gameplay to keep adding on to the world. Eventually fancy NPC's will not be enough to subsitute ppl's thirst for gameplay.

This is the initial feeling I get from Graal2k1, prehaps with enough game time I may change my view in favor of the world, but for now it is only a land for social gatherings, not one of an online "Action RPG".

i'm not gonna reaply for my account yet until the server has more on, because once you have done all the quests and helped other people no one seems to do anything, now that people can start events it's a little better but still boring

PKing on Graal2001 is acceptable.

Look around and tell me if you see a police. Guess the novelty of the tag wore off, ey? People are kind of undependable sometimes.

The police really don't seem to put their tag to use. Someone on toalls will say "What the hell was that?" and then a policeman will say "That is unacceptable language." Then someone will go on and say "What kinda S*** are you dishin out to us?" and then the police don't care.
Another thing: People will be PK'ing and stealing money, just messing around, no police. You chop some newbie with your sword, and they go to the police and get you jailed for that. It's totally screwed up and if people are going to wear a "police" tag, they should do their police job!

[blank levels and so much space] - Those are getting filled, for example, by the bombaria or whatever, there will go Kalaron Kingdom, OR it will go where the red trees are beside Dustari....These are getting filled, just be patient
[police] - they have died, not many are on, and sometimes don't do there job. I say find people who are on a lot and have no life seriously, it would be better, so someone is on at all times. Maybe set up times for everyone, but of course, the police chief is so busy to do that.

I just hope that your desert project is worth it and FITS IN WITH THE LANDPLOT!!! After all, you wouldn't want a desert right in the middle of the water, nor would you want a desert right next to a forest...
