I'm gonna draw again, except..

I'm gonna draw again, except I'm low on supplies and stuff. My old stuff never worked, so, what do you think I should go out and get for sketches + scanning?

I just use a regular ol' pencil and some paper from a sketch book. You could just draw on other paper, though. I mean... you don't need the best materials to practice with, si?

Wacom Intuos3, then you skip the middle man. You can find it at circuit city or online at wacom.com.

Using a Wacom is different than drawing if you can't afford/get the software that emulates it properly.

I can afford that - I'm gonna pratice with the regular stuff but, I'm looking at what I can do to Ink and Color things in effectivly - I used to just use Sharpies and it made everything look like crap (Not that my sketches were good but )

I'm wonder what you would suggest for the inking + coloring that doesn't get messed up in scanning.

I use a normal mechanical pencil for drawing, and a black micron pen for inking. Works nice, especially on card stock. However, I used to use a normal gel pen and things came out pretty well after scanning. As long as you clean up the pencil lines after you ink it, any sort of felt tip or gel pen should work well.

Thin tip, or normal sharpies?

Sharpies are good for making really thick lines, and making things look bold.
