3D top down GK?
|
I doubt this could ever happen, but it would be interesting:
What if the sprites for the buildings and such had meshes built for them, and it moved to a top down semi-isometric view...but had 3D rendering for the elements? That way, you could freely spin orientation and ships and all things could not be locked into 90 degree land.
Would that improve or ruin graal? Personally I would like that, and I know some 3D functionality is supposed to be available in the v3 toolsets.
Sprites just don't have the flexibility of meshes. Monsters would still roam based on a flat 2D area of the ground, and hits wouldn't need to be changed, the 3D is just a way of rendering the sprites instead of moving to 3D geometry and physics.
This is really just a big 'what if' and what would people think of it, I doubt it would be converted considering the workload and that the first person 3D is coming out. |

"Why, of course! It's just a name, like the Death Zone or the Zone of No Return. All the zones have names like that in the Galaxy of Terror."
