Inside level thought, please discuss

After going through Npulse and Classic to find what tingled me when I played graal, I noticed the style of inside buildings. Plain, simple, enough content, and not messy. As a LAT I'm struggling to get a super uber 1337 inside design with super round corners and spas-tacular effects and then realized, screw this I'm going back to the old style.

Here's where I want to get a discussion going, should we stick with the old style and then add new and leeter themes? Its a nice thought that struck my head and I think people would agree, the old style was nice for insides. Period. It fits the outside and doesn't require you to put outside tiles in the inside just to give your walls some brick effect.

I dont know, it's something I'll start doing...and hopefully other LATs would like to join me and try to develope some kind of style. The current graal inside style is boring. In my opinion as every year goes by, we make things more complicated than they should really be.

What do you guys have to say about this? It's the first time in months where i've spent time to post something long and meaningful.

About any style I have seen sucks. Yet the nicest houses are the original ones on G2k1.

The playerhouses before we were allowed to send in our own?

Loriel those were horribly confusing and overdone. I miss the old look. The new looks are too much. They are temp-eye candy.

I agree with you Crono. I will be incoporating this style into my playerworld! Let's go back to the old style of Graal! We will start a revolution.

Adding pre-made tiles into the level helps alot so you don't need to change everything, just experiment.

I like the old style, but it's just boring when you can only do so much with it to make new looks....What I like to see is a mixture of the old and new tiles, meaning the old tileset with some new tiles added to it to add different looks to a PW without giving up the classic feel.
If you have a good imagination, you can make many different styles with the old tileset, but I would like to see more color, and new tiles added to it to at least add a little excitement to it.

The thing that old insides had were simplicity and quantity. I mean I can remember when people basically had 2 real floors. 2 full levels of rooms, with everything in it. Nicely divided up and yet fun. It may have had to do with the fact that I grew up on these levels, but if you look at the current ones they just dont give you a good feeling. Just eye candy.

I agree though, new styles can be used with the old style. I'm just trying to get some people to possibly join me and try to make a nice style. I'm sick of the current style and im sure some of you may be too.

Mhm, probably. I was mostly referring to Harmonia and Antora Apendage and the like.

They used a rather simple and consistent style that was not confusing at all.

I liked the ones that came standard with a new playerhouse, I think Stefan made them, but not sure, it had that "new" look where you were kind of just looking at the house with the roof cut off, hard to explain, anyone else?

Yeah, but I think Antago made most of them? Not sure there. Stefan's style in Mantara-or-whatever-that-name-was was kind of interesting as well, and had he used more proper perspective and bigger outsides, it would be a pretty cool concept
