Aight, since I was promoted and recieved the title of Corsair so did the lot of you. Theres a problem though, some of you are under level 15 and prob wondering why you haven't recieved a new rank. Well its because your too low of a level at the moment to recieve one. So in other words all of you in my crew who are under level 15 need to try to get there as soon as possible. After everyone is in the same boat I will start training sessons and such. You dont have to spend alot of time leveling just remember, the sooner the better. If you have any questions, feel free to reply on this post. I will be checking it everyday for about a week.

Because obviously a person's worth to their RP kingdom is only as good as their level.

Does it show I'm not a proponent of level requirements?

I remember ages ago I wanted to be captain, but instead I became architect the Mayor, lets see what level was I. I think I was level 16,17 or 18. No wait 18 X_X When I was architect If i wanted to be captain I was demoting myself. Levels don't do too much anyways.

You miss the point, I want them to get to level 15 in order to transfer them from the captain rank tree to the corsair tree. Until they reach 15 though, they will remain in the captain tree and cause complecations. So its easier just to get them to level 15 as soon as possible.

Maybe you should do how do you say a training program so they can get to level 15, pretty simple just get them all to party and then like split them into 2 groups, and go to two lord spawning spots, also have two high AC members of pirates to weaken the lord then they take turns finishing them off and the exp goes on between the two groups. Just a thought okay, I wrote this early in the morning where I am.

I thought about doing something like that, but I don't have that kind of time. The best thing I could do is to get them to work together. Besides this was only to inform my crew who are under level 15 that they are still in the captain tree. I never intended for such an "debate."

No game should have "levels" except for your difficulty of skill, you should not be a level 50 character, it's a generalized number that means nothing, but a character with level 50 pyromancy and a character with level 50 dagger aptitude should not be grouped into the same "level 50" classification.

A level requirement for a rank is stupid, I would however understand requiring that a high sorcery rank etc, not be given to someone with 5 skill in their sorcery but 62 in their swordsmanship, that's just dense.

A character with level 32 sorcery that is only "level 33" should be better suited for the high sorcery rank than a character with level 6 sorcery but is overall "level 67".

Maybe you just fail to understand the whole Level thing Raelyn. Levels in general are not required to advance in rank, we base them off of skill not the level of the Character. But many Kingdoms will not recruit a player until they have reached level 6 or 8. In Pirates there are 2 types of crews in the Pirate Navy. Captains are now overseeing the crews of the lower level or younger ranked Pirates and Corsairs command the higher more experienced crews. Sadly most people do not understand experience or like to hear they are inexperienced so we put a Minimum level requirement on the crews of the Corsairs, that being level 15. By the time a player reaches the 15th level, they should, but not always have a grasp of the game. But being fair we do not wish to set the bar to high and run people off. The current ranking system and promotions have gone quite well and everyone seems happy. Though I invite anyone that is unhappy about promotions being based on skill over levels to speak up. Im always open to new ideas.
