Elven Bow of Aengus

I want my Elven Bow of Aengus, I'm an archer and I pray to Aengus, and I'm getting pretty impatient.

Tell me what you think?

Yes, they should bring in ALL of the god items
Ogma's bracers sound cool

They should make this agreement:
They'll put it up if you make images for all the other god items. Then they'll put it up all together at once.

And it doesn't even have to be good images, they can update it later x.x

I wouldn't even mind doing gfx for kingdoms, I don't see --chris-- doing much.

It's not like that took alot of effort, it took what? 45 minutes tops? I could make a dozen different designs and we could pick the best.

I'm thinking of submitting some other item ideas anyways, 'cause I'm bored, and I like to do gfx, and it would just tickle me pink to get something I made on GK.

I thought the leafy, vine covered wood idea would fit the "Elven". Although, I was considering some other designs, with more of a root or driftwood look.

Poor recolor of g2k2bow3.png (that junk took 45 minutes?)

"I don't see --chris-- doing much." Ah, but I am. Do you know my responsibilities on Graal? My skills aren't limited to graphics nor am I the only graphics guy GK has. Do you have the sufficient information to even derive a point like that? What is it with you trying to pick fights with me?

Oh..two threads in different areas of the forums about this wasn't neccessary either.

I believe the problem is that alchemy/aengus bows are actual bows, whereas the others count as swords, in the strange perception of the server. I agree that it should be fixed, also Ogma's bracers. All the other relics work fine.

The only items that don't work are Ogma's bracer and Aengus bow - the bow because of the sysme, it already has a basic gfx, and the bracers because they are for some reason not connected to Ogma - they exist too, with a basic gfx.

I was guessing that the bows were falling under a sword category already ust by the fact that when you equip a bow it readies the melee weapon skill, and the fact that "attune:missle" or "deflect missle" stuff does absolutely nothing from what I have seen. What is wrong with Ogma bracers? If we have the icon, and we know the stats of it, why hasn't it been made?

I got nothing against chris, and wouldn't say anything about it if we could enjoy his company a little more than "rarely".

Yeah that looks really nice raelyn.
I think the problem was that there was already a gfx for it (although the one i saw on ed sucked, it was just a green "wooden bow" =/) but the gani hadnt been made or something?!?!?!
Dunno. But yeah, make the relics, not that i'd be able to get any ever due to the quests being completed within seconds of their coming up...

Archers need lovin' too, why aren't there any event bows? Not all of us like to chase things down and smash 'em with a hammer you know. I might make some more stuff today, I'm feeling particularly creative.

The problem with Ogma's bracers is that they aren't linked to Ogma's medium level yet - I've been trying to get Stefan to do that for months.
As far as bows in general are concerned, I think there should be an altered system - the actual one doesn't really allow for, say, 'sniper shots'. For one, there should be something to increase your accuracy. This is where the (old, once mentioned by Stefan himself) suggestion comes in that you need to practice skills in oder to be perfect. I.e. if you use bows every day, actually hitting something (insert target ranges for the kingdoms here), your skill modifier will go op, from 0.01 for never firing it to 1 for Legolas... well, you get the picture. Also, the lag problem caused by the fire rate in combination with the gani should be dealt with - why not remove the explosion? They're just eye candy, anyway...

I believe the problem with --Chris-- are both timezones and background work. I didn't see him on GK in months, then again, this doesn't mean a thing as he has plenty of time in what he calls afternoon and evening to play. Besides, this thread isn't about him.

I agree, the explosion is useless, and the idea as far as using a skill more often making it go up is awesome, I never liked the fact that I used a bow everyday, but aside from general experience with the bow, I was no better than anyone else.

They're eye candy. I think there should be an addition to any possible system, namely a great decrease of accuracy - or maybe not being able to fire it at all - in melee range.

'flaming arrow' would be a cool, if it added a flame to the shot and left the explosions on the hit. Maybe you'd have to press A with the bow readied in front of a fire source (kindling etc) to light each arrow first. Then you couldn't run so much, but still light them with wall torches in dungeons/maps etc.

just an odd idea...

People are waiting on things they currently have (ogma bracers, aengus bow, alch crossbows/bows, +several spells) and don't work, or have the stats to get (via praying) but don't get.

They really should be finished up before any new levels, etc, are added. Well, some staff work on levels but can't work on spells etc. At least a 'task force' should be set up to crank em out, imo.

Gfx look very nice btw

Agreed.
Apart from that, special arrows would be nice, if the bow-system was revised sometime.

Heh, does anyone else remember on start island, as you come out of the sound, there's the explosion sound in the distance and you're like "Wtfs is that? it's really annoying!" and then you walk up the beach and there's some cool guy with a bow, and his arrows explode. Can you imagine the lag if we had that? o_O

If normal arrows lose their eye-candy explosion, I wouldn't mind having the possibility, say, alch exploding arrows, if they are still rare enough. it would be nice if special arrows could have altered rate of firing... like being quite slow as you have to ignite them.

I remember when we were testing nations on Classic (Graal the Adventure for the bumbs who chose to rename it)
Gaia nation had this one bow that was in testing
whenever it landed, anybody in the same level lagged so bad that Graal froze up and had to be restarted
Dark Cloud demonstrated for the few of us who wanted to suffer THE LAG!!!

I remember that... -.- when I had a nice good ol' fashioned account reset... you know, this isnt very relavent to the thread...

That bow Rae did is a poor modification of another 2k2 bow... stop the Chris bashing plis.. you are nothing special either

No more explosions... god its horrible when 5 people chase you with those lagging you up...

Exploding arrows should be a skill, or a spell, or a feat... one of those.

How about Ice Bolts and Arrows, Elec Bolts and Arrows, and finally, some bows with elements. Bow of Posion (lame name) and such, that added poison or whatever effect corresponding to their name... event of course.

Hm... I believe the laggy thing was the Airstrike for alien race on classic, but then again, I left when nations were in early alpha. I know that gaia had an NPC listed that would allow people to catch arrows from the air and fire them right back. I don't think that would be a good idea for GK, though, before anyone starts it.
