For new alchemists

To practice alchemy, you need three things:
the SPELL alchemy
the SKILL alchemy
a cauldron
ingredients
recipes
level 3 in Magic
5 spell points

You don't actually have to have the recipe scroll, just as long as you know how to make the recipe.

Steps (I'm gonna break it down for all you who don't know how to experiment):

1. Ready (activate) Cauldron (it's just like a container). If you don't know how to do this, go read the Unofficial Manual on the 2002 Main Forum. You should have done this a long time ago.

2. Open Cauldron. See #1 for explanation.

3. Place all ingredients you need for the recipe in the Cauldron.

4. Close Cauldron.

5. Place Cauldron on ground.

6. Stand near the Cauldron, facing toward it, and cast (the SPELL) Alchemy. If you don't know how to do this, go read the manual mentioned in #1.

At this point you should see, in the lower-right of your screen, a message telling you what happened with the spell.

7. Pick up Cauldron.

8. Ready (activate) Cauldron.

9. Open Cauldron.

10. Remove the items from the Cauldron (place them in your main inventory).

11. Use the SKILL Alchemy to identify the items. Again, you should read the manual if you don't know how to do this.

Once more you should see a message telling you your results.

Forgive me for bumping an old thread, but I've noticed people are asking again how to do alchemy... so,

Also, note: the SKILL alchemy is learned from a Scroll of Alchemistry. Thought I'd add that.
