Mining Carts

I think mining with a cart and pick axe should yield more raw materials... Took about 30 minutes to maybe get 16 raw minerals with a mine cart... plus pushing the cart around... takes alot less time to get that same amount of minerals with just a pick axe... and just about equal to a little less time to kick rocks for the minerals...

Raw materials - Iron, stone, small gold nuggets, coal, diamond

In terms of kicking and using the pickaxe, you need to use the pickaxe far less to get the mineral, compared to kicking.
Also, kicking seems to be uninhibited by the weapon speed, while using a pickaxe is.

I think his point wasn't kicking itself but rather the carts. I agree that they are rather slow, also, after having 2 carts of mine stuck in the walls... I, too, prefer hand-picked rocks. The only advantage of cart-mining is probably the experience you get, but still...

Yes... the way you move carts on the tracks is horrible too... maybe if there were some way to ride on it like the dransines(sp?) on Graal2001... and have a brake to slow down quickly...

Another problem apart from carts stuck in the wall - even though it's rather annoying than desastrous - is that sometimes when pushing the cart you just walk through it, and have to push it all the way back to get it out...

Just go down into the mines where there are no tracks, and you can still mine the old way, then put your cart down, and start mining, if anyone comes around, just open your cart so they can't get into it

Then why put it down anyway? You can only pick it up when it's empty, so you can't use it for weight reduction that way anyway.

The new way should be more efficient than the old way.... Because mining with a cart is supposed to be more advanced than without one....
