[i posted this a long time ago, but if any of the g2k1 admins want to use it to implement the new features of Graal2001, they can. i just want to see an improved New Main. oh yeah, and credit of course. *wink wink*]
The New Graal2001!
It was a silent day, the air was stale and the graalians were doing their rounds, stopping by the local market stands. Fighting inside the town walls, a few were even out adventuring in the wild. Suddenly, a burst of flames split the sky apart and to their amazement, the graalians looked up into the heavens for an answer. The only thing they seen was a giant mass of fire coming towards them, the meteor was half the size of this world itself.
Immediately following the meteor's arrival, everyone began to panic and confusion was amidst the lands once again. Massive fighting, riots, and economical failure began to set in, the world was in complete chaos. It seemed as if it was the end for this world, not even a miracle could save them now. The darkness was becoming more darker, nightfall came and went, the next morning it was worse. Graalians began to call the meteor and tragic event, the "Great Cataclysm," and the final hours approached swiftly for the handfull of survivors. The bomy-bopots and humans became unified in the end, it took them this long to realize their own faults. Two races that once hated each other, began to pray and bond their hearts as the intense heat of the meteor dawned upon them. In a flash, all was gone. The lands shook, trees were burnt to a crisp, and most structures were now nothing more than rumble. All that was left was a drifting wind and unseen lost hope.
Years and years passed, nothing changed, the lands remained in ruins. One day, a small glimmer of hope began to shine. The moonlight danced upon the lonely bomy's shell and it began to shake back and forth. Was it still alive? What could this mean, perhaps some life was still eminent? The bomy stretched out it's small legs and climbed up onto a high mountain, overlooking the destroyed lands. It perked it's nose into the air and sniffed, small objects began to move and then the bomy noticed something strange, more bomy-bopots of it's kind were awaking to the moonlight. These bomies were intelligent and clever, they began to forge food and find shelter. Soon there were huts on the shores of the once civilized Bomboria, more bomies were showing up in the outskirts of the main island. At first, they began fighting and attacking each other. But a figure walked forward, his name was Kuza A14.
It was a prototype, a robotic machine. The cyborg had layed dorment in the Zalactic Labs for all this time. The bomies did not understand Kuza A14's language, and his built-in system could not translate their ancient language either. Days went by, new lands were formed, one day a bomy digger was exploring a site and came across some strange skeletons. It was the remains of humans, this motivated the bomies to search for more artifacts of the past, as they remembered nothing of their past lives. The bomies began to hate the humans, they learned of the way they treated their bomy ancestors and each other. The bomy-bopots believed in peace and tranquility. It appeared the humans did not, this made the cyborg unhappy. The bomies that once feared the cyborg, now rejected him and exiled him from their territories.
Kuza A14 returned back to the underground lab were he was born, his A.I. allowed him to search the area for clues, he came across documents and history books. In one of the computer machines he found a red disc, labeled "Project Cataclysm." Kuza A14 was puzzled, he didn't know wether he should recover the lost data and show the chief of the bomies, Aroch. This was one of the more understanding and in telligent bomy-bopots, Aroch and Kuza A14 were great friends, they kept in touch even after he was exiled from Bomboria. The two had even managed to break their language barrier. They decided to watch it together, to unravel the mysteries and events that had befell these lands before their time. The screen popped up, a holographic image depicting the old world. Text scrolled by, the pros and cons of this era. It showed humans fighting bomies, people thieving from each other, illegal and foreign powers that made others idle. They realized it was a world of complete corruption and hate. Aroch felt this is what would happend to this civilization, he argued against the disk and vowed not to let any of it take place. This didn't phase Kuza A14, he felt it was an object of the past, that a new beginning was to start now, through unity of the current races. Aroch left with haste and told him that he'd confront the bomy council of this matter, the disk was still in the hands of Kuza A14 however.
The cyborg remained in the labs for a long time, pondering the ways of humans and bomies, until one day an invasion took place. Aroch led the bomies brigade to the Zalatic Labs. A war against Kuza A14 began, the much smaller bomies were no match for him. It was not in his well to fight, but the bomy-bopots were too fascinated with Aroch's ideas. They bombarded him, there were too many of them for him to fend off without using force, this is where I came into the story.
My name is Tuhon, a warrior of the forest. My small tribe had survived this whole time, as we had stayed hidden within the deep forests, protected by the magic of the forest guardian. I was out hunting and found myself adventuring further into the wilderness when I stumbled across the strange creatures, ranting and raving of a takeover. The bomies I once knew were kind, but wild and ferocious at times. These were not normal ones, I followed them to the wastelands in Antora, atop the moutain they ventured deeper into the Zalatic Labs. They confronted the cyborg, his name was Kuza A14 as I stated before. I arched my back and took out my bow, pulling back and releasing a fire arrow at the invention that glowed so brightly in the back. The lights went out, I pulled Kuzo as I called him from that point, out of the fighting. We fled through the sewer system, ending up in an underground passage that led into Silverstrun's Sea. It was at this time that I carried him back to an island in the middle of the lake and layed him down. The tin, metal, and circuitry were badly damaged. Kuzo began to tell me his story, from the time he awoke in the labs alone, to his last hour in which he found true friendship with me. In his last dying breath, he said, "Stranger, I have one request before I go. Please, save this world. It means well, there's lost hope. Destiny is in..." and that was the last thing he ever said.
I left him alone on the island, and buried what remained of the machine. Now, only a stack of rocks signify the robot's hopes. My journey back was rough, I couldn't stop thinking about what he had told me. I spoke with our leader, Kogok. We decided to make peace with the bomy-bopots and share our farming secrets, goods, and valuables with them. The bomy-bopots had never seen humans, only the remains and rough sketches, images or photos if they were lucky. Aroch approached me, he ask if I had seen a large robot travelling the lands. I replied with a simple no, feeling it would only make things more complex for us. The bomies and humans made peace, we began to spread out more and cultivate the lands.
This time, harmony would prevail. Some of the bomies didn't accept us, as the same went for some of our tribe. They've spread out and formed their own groups now, I on the other hand, have moved into a bomy colony and began work as a stablehand. The pay is good, and I'm about to publish this diary. I hope I'll make it, times have changed since back then. - Tuhon Gatoo, 2016 |
