First off, right now newmain is very unimportant to graal at large...I intend to change that by drawing in players again, but at this point in time....


Second off, why do you think that newmain was better with kamuii as manager than without? If I knew, perhaps I could be a more effective manager.

It was Stefan who fired Kamuii, not Tseng and Jeff, if it's anyone's fault, it's mine because I sent all those PMs to Stefan complaining about Kamuii planning to make the server private and then later when he and Koni wanted to remove playable bomys.

According to Stefan, my lack of "organization" was causing a problem with efficiency on the server and was the reason why Graal 2001 had less staff, less players, and no new events.

The only thing that I feel Kamuii did wrong was simply not be on graal2001 and as involved in the development process as he could have. If he had done that, then he would have been a damned good manager. Unfortunately, he didn't do that. He devoted large portions of his time to other things, and not Graal2001, and relied solely on secondhand information. He idled on RC for a few days at a time. That is not only bad form, it is also a security vunlerablity for the server. I can't really fault Stefan for removing him. If I saw that, and was in Stefan's shoes, then I can't say I would have made another choice. I like Kamuii; he's a nice person. However, that doesn't excuse the neglect he gave graal2001.

Will I make enemies in posting this? Maybe. Does that make me a bad person? No. Do I care what other people think of me? Not really, as long as I'm doing a good job as Co-Manager. I care about graal2001...I care about it a lot. While Kamuii may have cared for it, he sure as hell didn't show he did. What happened to all the status updates? What happened to the projects? In my whole career at graal2001, i was assigned zero projects. Zero. Now is that the way things should be run? Developers just make what they want, without direction? I don't think so.

And as for all of you people who said "STUPID" "BAD CHOICE," etc...

None of you that have said this type of thing so far play or work at graal2001...so you have no idea what the situation is. You may have done so in the past, but things have changed a lot there. Under his leadership, our playercount has sunk from 75 or so, to about 10 (And most of them are staff.)

Kamuii says he discussed projects with Jeff and I. This amounts to me telling him every so often what I was working on. He says he was involved in development. He wasn't. He did not hand out nor manage projects, except for the first month or so of his management. Kamuii says we lack staff to make new things, but he hasn't been actively hiring. Jeff and I have been doing most of the hiring anyway over the past few weeks, and we have hired several talented, qualified staff. Many projects are being undertaken. New Jobs, New Quests, New Events, New Weapons, New many things. Kamuii makes a lot of claims, and his logic sounds good, but when you actually look at the facts, you will see that he comes up short.

You nay-sayers' opinions are just that. Opinions. And I have this theory. It's "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how stupid it may be."

Oh, and Brad, I laugh because I have to point this out to you, but I said "Kamuii will be missed." Am I acting sad? Perhaps. I do believe I will miss Kamuii; fellow Otakus are rather rare.

So, in short: Happy New Year. Graal2001 is changing for the better.:o

Well Kamuii, I recall so many times of trying to message you on AIM asking you about things, and receiving no answers, when other people told me that you were answering them at the time.

As proof of my ability to fix scripts, you agreed to send me the lugie stadium field levels (There were some rather annoying bugs in there, with the ET commands and with the warps). I waited...3-4 weeks for them. I finished fixing them within an hour, sent them back as soon as they were done. You said you would upload them. another 2-3 weeks passed. Nothing. No word on my application. So I sent you another message asking about my application status. Your reply? "Staff is full, sorry." I asked for how long it had been that way. You said 3-4 weeks. Very interesting. Staff was "full" yet we have had more, not less, since then , and now we don't have enough? This does not make sense to me![/edit]

I remember so many things you let happen on this server.

You gave Excalibur RC after three witnesses (including myself) saw him stating anti-Semitic (sp?) things, as well as innumerable people seeing him Pking on tag. You let so many corrupt people be staff, and even with evidence against them, you let them stay.

You let Birdbird work here even though he signed on about once a month, and all he said was his town was coming along "ok", and he was looking for some file or another (not even for graal2001, but for something else he was working on).

You let Torankusu remain as FAQ chief when he was on even less than Birdbird. You thought he did a superb job of managing the FAQ Team. How can you critique someone's job performance if you're not online? But I guess with you being so inactive yourself, you could find no flaws in that theory. And if you fired Toran for being inactive, you would have made yourself a hypocrite.

Like I said...you let so many things happen...

It is a relief to me that I can finally speak freely; for what would happen if I were to denounce you before you were safely out of power? I would be fired for attempting to reveal the truth.

I spoke to you on AIM after you found out that unixmad had ordered Konidias to stop working on the new things for graal2001 and focus on graal2002. I recall that conversation quite well. I kept saying that we HAD to at least try to bring SOMETHING new, because doing nothing is what brought us to this bad situation. Kamuii, you said you didn't want to "risk" damage to "your reputation" by trying to revamp the server, add new things, etc, to try to bring it back. You said that it didn't work at Providence - I never played there, so I don't know what the exact problem was. But what I do know is that doing nothing is even worse than trying and failing. A famous phrase states "The road to success is paved with failure." It is quite applicable.

Kamuii, you wanted the title of manager, with few of the responsibilities. You let graal2001 go to hell. You gave up. And it's time for someone who wants to try to fix it to do so.

You may feel like I've betrayed you...But you've betrayed graal2001.

I am sympathetic. I am sorry that it had to happen. Bad things happen to good people. But, this had to happen, because you were not exhibiting any tendency towards future change. You're a good person, and I wish it had not come to this. But it did, and I don't think that I can say anything else, becuase if there is one thing I am, it's honest. I always try to be honest, with myself, and with others. You're a good person - and as I said yesterday, I hope Stefan gives you the moderator position in the Graal Main Forum back - You are a damned good moderator, and you deserve it. Perhaps that's where time that should have gone into 2k1 went, into the forums (Ack, kind of awkward gramatically x.x).

Whatever. You shouldn't have been so nice to me yesterday when I was being fired and looking for support. You should have said "you get what you deserve" then instead of now, when you look like a lousy cur for doing it. :|

Anyway, I think firing Kamui was a little harsh. He should have at least gotten a warning first.

If Kamuii ran 2k1 any thing like he did Providence he should have been fired eons ago. Not to knock on him personally he seems alright but he makes for a terrible manager. When I first got rehired on Providence with him as manager. He was inactive I saw Jagen running the staff doing all the work. Then Jagen quit and I became Co-Manager. It was how it had appeared with Kamuii. In fact within 5 minutes of becomming staff I was told by Kamuii himself that he wanted Providence taking down. But I convinced him to give it at least a month. That month I did all the work I ran the entire staff. Kamuii didnt have any idea what was being done. Providence didnt fail we where averaging 30 players or more when I left. Not until after I left and there was a new (inactive) manager did prov start going down hilll again. Any how back to topic. My point is on Providence Kamuii just sat around and took all the credit of other peoples managment and I feel its more than likely the same case with 2k1. If I went into work and sat around all day when it was convienant for me and didnt do anything and pushed off all managment decisions on some one else. Would I still have a job? As I see it that is exactly what happened here.

But as for Providence it didnt die because of change and people not liking it. It died because of inactive and poor managment after I left. Of course at that time Kamuii had already quit Providence so he wasnt responsible for Providence going down hill then. Just for its current state when I came back to it and there was nothing on the server.

That's why I was fired.

I don't view it that way. Players were more attracted to 2002 because it was newer and updated more frequently because it had the big man working on it himself. Graal2001 was this way when Stefan was working on it also. I say it's Stefan's fault, mostly. But, they did need to open something new and try to attract more classic players, but they only attracted more gold players and led them away from 2001.
