Angry The New Secure Trade

Im disapointed with this new secure trade... it only works with money to item... I think there sould be a button on the thing that says qunaity and it should be an [Item] button and a whole new item menu comes up and you can trade ITEM to ITEM with people

Well there are some advantages with this which could help prevent scamming. Lets say you wanna trade a speed +1 ring for a dex + 1 ring. They are both valued at approximately 100 plat. To ensuure that you don't get scammed the person giving the item first (let's pretend it's the speed +1 ring) is given 100 plat then when it's time to recieve the dex + 1 ring they give the 100 plat. Even if someone backs out from a trade after they recieved their item you get to keep the insurance which is an average/approximate item value (100 plat in this case) so you don't lose out

I actually like it this way.

It's probably possibly to support item-to-item trading although it's more complicated to make, and the tax you need to pay would need to be calculated differently.

Why do you need to pay taxes if you can drop-trade? Sure, it's risky, but you don't need to pay taxes.

I think Stefan is trying to prevent what happened on Graal Bomy Moon.... when all the long time players gathered so much money... the economy got messed up... making it impossible for a new player to enjoy the luxery of what long time players have... the taxes are used to slowly decay the amount of money that players have just enough to keep the economy somewhat stable

Just my friggin long guess

And the taxes will be an important thing for the kingdoms. When the tax is too high for you then you can just drop the items, but it's risky and you cannot complain when the other one steals the stuff.
The same for market stands: they are not really needed since you can trade it directly, but they make thinks easier for you and you possibly get more money in less time than when speaking with all people and spending hours on negotiating good prizes. For that service you pay a little tax, which will depend on the kingdoms.

In real life you need to pay taxes when buying stuff from other people or trading valuable items.

ok..

i know a way for you can pay taxes-
the value of the item

----------trade-----------system-

a big box opens for both players when they open up secure trade its like an inventory you put the items in you can see what the guy put in because theres 2 boxes u and the guy and when ur ready u click trade and it transfers the stuff

Other Things to do with taxes:

Have kingdom shops, like the main isle stores (an overpriced spell store, tiranthia store, alchemy store, etc) but with rarer items occuring more often, however, you would have to pay an additional tax, to the kingdom (Kingdoms with low taxes, get more buyers on the island, thus more money, so we can have economic wars)
The tax islands can be put to use, raiding one allows access to SOME of the kingdoms money, for stealing purposes, only kingdom members may do that.
There could be kingdom stores (different to the above) where kingdoms can buy fortifications and forts and other kingdom items to enhance thier island, bought with tax money.
Well, those are my ideas, feedback would be appreciated...
