BETA Terrain tileset for Doragon Koden

Please pay close attention to the title...this is just a BETA, i.e. not the final product.

I know they aren't the best, I still have a lot of work to do, but your input is welcomed...but I would prefer more positive suggestions instead of the outright and blatant "THOSE GXF SUX!" responses :/ You don't have to scream it in my face something I already know, ok?

There are a bunch of pathway tiles in there...except for a couple I've added, the rest (excluding the default path tiles) do not tile well so I won't be keeping those...and yes, I'll have my own default path tiles for those that plan on commenting :/ I'm fortunate to have hired at least 2-3 new GFX people...while this should be their task and not mine, they seem to be occupied with other things...looks like I'll need to pull out my whip and get them to do some real work

you don't need to terrain gen to make 3d levels, I can type up a gmap easy enough, just type it flat, use one of two methods to load the gmap in the offline editer, and edit the groundheights

The water is generic enough that you can't really prove that. It hasn't any unique features that stand out unless you have a screen shot of your friends tileset...

The tiles look good and I tested them on a gmap. The mountains will be remade thats for sure.

You want to see my source? One of my NPC Scripters was nice enough to share this with me and grant the use of it for the tiles. It was a pain because the tiles were not the standard 16x16.

It all looks very nice. Good job.
Only thing that looks funny in there is that red mushroom. it looks like a smaller version of those mushrooms from Super Mario Bros.

you can make GMAPs in wordpad, if you don't assign the height values (Pir once posted in a post everything you needed for a flat gmap) it will just show up as 0 for every groundheight, if you know how to load the heights on the offline editer (there are 2 ways) you can make it 3d with that

Water is NOT blue, pure H2O is clear, the reason the ocean is blue is because the water is reflecting the color of the sky...

Or the gasses in the atmosphere if you want to get technical.

To retain the consitency of the tileset. Originally, those 'DK' tiles said 'NW'. I changed them because this was my set, not NW's

Anyway, to conserve threads, here's pretty much the final version of the status display that will go across the top of the screen...well, its sort of final, I just need to add in the HP, MP and a couple other things

That is because its a display

If you've played something like Starcraft or Warcraft, you'll have something similar in size on the screen

Dimensions are 640x96

And its still under 64kb :]

Yes, I realize it is a display, but Graal Displays usually arent that size. Either way it looks good...
