Yes, it would be good, but I don't think it's possible because that would just piss people of and they would leave 2001 for good and play 2002.

Edit:
After reading the thread about the same question in the main forum I realized I might be wrong.

I say just change it so people drop half as much as they lose when they die. Then set loose a plague. In a few deaths everyone will be poor again. And they'll complain bitterly, and you can tell them at least you didn't reset it completely.

Or you can make prices vary based on how rich the player is, but Kai doesn't seem to like that idea.

Wouldn't work, you could easily fool the script to think you are poor.

Depends how you script it...if it just checks how many gralats you have, yeah. If it checks how many gralats, apples, fishes, durbies, hats, bomys, etc. and their rough market value...

Is it possible that the problem is, at heart, that the only thing G2K1 HAS is an economy?

I mean shoot, we NEVER have these debates on Classic..."Oh no, too many people have too much money, should we reset the server?" Money is basically irrelevant on Classic...
I think the primary complaint is that there's a demand for hats, which is good, but a limited supply of cash. People don't really want to work the mines for three months to finally get the Shogun hat before their account runs out...you need cash quests. Risk your life for a chance at big money and fabulous prizes.

Would be a good Idea thym, however we dont want the server to be JUST and economy and some hats here and thre. its pathetic seeing people runn around like scared ants tryng to get hats. its plainly rediculous!

Well, gotta start somewhere. If you take out the money, bomys and hats, you have a nothing server. At least now you have a foundation, decent levels and a high-demand economy.
