Is it me, or is stefan really pushing Account upgrade onto people, as soon as you enter the graal2001.com site you see a sign up message, and a huge paragraph about what you get if you do sign up...

Not that thats bad, he has hosted a server for 2 years...ermm....wait thats Unixmad, Bomber made the game....heh...

Any way....what do you think?....is he or is it just me?

He's pushing people to subscribe, and it isn't a bad thing. For one thing, we don't get bugged by those annoying ads anymore! So it evens out. Not to mention all the other benefits, like being able to post here. And the money goes to help support the server, which I'm sure isn't cheap!

that's because it's the Graal 2001 homepage =) Wouldn't a product's homepage immeidiately want to tell you how good it is and where to get it? You dont see BUY GRAAL2001 SUBSCRIPTION NOW IT IS GREAT all over the classic page do you? nope

I started in 1.34....and for about 8 months, i think, we had;

+access to boards
+no banners in PMs

The only extra thing i see with newmain is the use of the email address, <ur name>@graal2001.com, which isn't a big big deal since many places give free emails...

I'm not trying to tare stefan down, i love the guy, he made Graal......my life outside of my life....

Virgil you do have a point, but, he's putting the section before the news, so people must read it or at least see it....Graal never used to be this heavy on advertising, so why is it now?

Money makes the world go around, so it's pretty natural that he would need (want) money for all of the work he has put into Graal. It's not like we are being ripped off. G2K1 has a long way to go but it still offers us many unique things to keep us occupied until then. Not to mention the other benefits of upgrading.
