Murasamune Update & Info thread

This thread is so you will know what I am doing, and plan on doing for Murasamune.

Right now I am working on a map, it is near completion and I will post it soon.

The way the map will work in Murasamune will be alot different the the common server. I am going to have more control over it, and it won't give the players nearly as much information...I will most likely find a way to get rid of the built in map and make my own using script. It will basicly be the bare basic stuff, it won't show houses or anything. For villages it will show dots, and for your location it will show a blinking dot. I haven't completely worked everything out, but it will make adventuring alot more challenging, and will also cause me to put alot of secrets (like a island where you can buy the best equiptment, very small and hidden, not even on the map. You would need a boat and such and go exploring for it)

I have MANY plans, but I will reveal the most general and obvious ones to you.

I am done with the tree top script, although it needs to be optimized a bit (which will be easy, I'm just missing a little thing when I'm do it the short way but I need to figure out what...).

What it does is basicly deletes any tree top tiles and replaces it with a tree top image, which will be random once I make the gfx and everything. This will allow players to beable to walk behind tree tops, so essentially allow you to explore forests.

Right now, because of a little bug, it freezes graal for about 1 second then everything is fine...once I optimize it that won't be there, the time it takes to calculate everything will not even be noticed.

Hmm if you did that I would need to use that sweet space system I made for Murasamune....then of course, you could make your future area as we planned anyway.

Get your AIM direct connection stuff working btw!

The final map you will see. When I finish scripting it, you will show up as blinking dots, and towns will show up as white dots. Dungeons and such will show up as other colors, you get the point anyhow.

You won't beable to see fellow players, which means you need to arrange where you meet and such.

Yes, I used PSP for texture and recoloring, and resizing...the "actual" map is alot bigger.

Hey I had a similar idea except I was gonna draw it than scan it. ;o Good idea though. (Im not shadrock or THT, you can tell cuz im not flaming)
