Replacing Text, Experts Read

Ok, I'm new here. Just to get things out of the way, I'm not maverick. Notice the difference in the spelling of our names. I just got my name from the megaman series and changed it a little. Ok, is there anyone here who knows how to change the background color of the sign text cause i made my own letters image and i used it but there's still the yellow background from the sign in some areas. Do you know how to get rid of this?

You changed all the sign stuff on the bottom of the letter set too right?

isnt it states.png or something that has the sign stuff in it? like the border and the bg and junk?

The bottom right two PIXELS in the letters bitmap are your background colors.

hmm...that doesn't sound quite right, cuz you can edit the solid 16x16 tile and have the background different than a solid color (unless it's been too long since I've messed with letters.png)
