I think there should be a staff member specifically taking the role of regulating kingdoms and roleplaying. This is an idea that has been brought up before, and I'd like to bring it up again
Part of their job should be similar to an EM, but go beyond that.
Here are some things that should be part of such a job:
-Making sure leaders are actively ruling in EVERY way (active in game, active on forums, have development going on in debug)
-Make sure kingdom activity is going on (events being regularly hosted... and maybe supply each leader equally with some EC's or stuff of that sort to be evented off)
-Ensure a productive change-of-leadership whenever leadership is changed
-Administrate battles between kingdoms
-Make sure roleplaying is being encouraged and done by the kingdoms, with the leaders and high-ranking officials required to provide a good example by roleplaying while on tag.
-Encourage inter-kingdom activity, such as alliances, enemies, wars...
-Make sure kings are leading honorably (not using their kingdoms as non-RP PK-guilds... regulating their own kingdom, enforcing rules, etc)
-And of course, helping leaders in whatever way possible, or leading them in the right direction to acheive productive results
A big thing that bothers me is today's status of roleplaying. Long ago, people could not join kingdoms without showing knowledge of roleplaying. They were required to be IC while on tag,and use brackets for OOC talk while on tag. Now it seems to just be a matter of choice; and people are frequently joining kingdoms without knowing anything about roleplaying. With certain changes taking place, roleplaying can return once again, and help increase the activity and playercount of Graal Kingdoms.
