(This thread is a continuation of the last one: http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...d.php?t=73570)
Hello everyone,
It is I, Zero, the Manager of the old server, Gileada! I officially have brought it back from the dead (from its 3 - 4 year sleep) after discovering some amazing design documents stashed away in the bowels of my hard drive. I have two new things to bring to you in this new thread: a official notice of hiring and a teaser screenshot!
First let me tell you a little about the server
Gileada is a soon-to-be revolutionary server to Graal that utilizes the GS2 engine to the fullest through unique concepts and never before seen game-dynamics (to Graal at least). The server is based in a Fantasy RPG theme with a heavy focus on both story and character individuality/development.
When a player enters the server, he is greeted buy a friend title screen much like the one you might see on a console rpg. The player may then choose which mode of play he wishes to go onto. There are four modes total each with their own set of overworlds and dynamics.
- The story mode is the place where a player can learn all about how to play the server and can embark on many quests involved in the thrilling story. As chapters are completed in this mode, more features are unlocked on the server as a whole.
- The OOC mode is probably the closest to a typical classic server currently. Players on that mode are usually out either pking or developing their own plots of land on the vast overworld. With the way our overworld system is designed, many towns and land plots can fit on the overworld without making it seem to crowded.
- The RP mode is designed for the heavy role playing fanatics. Players are encouraged to join various nations and either ally or go to war with each other. Designing items and stories for each character by the players them selves is another fun feature we encourage. And after you design your masterpiece, why don't you go product line it and ship it over to various player shops to be sold? With our unique economy system design, corruption in the economy is almost impossible.
- The events mode is a mode of play where there is always at least one event going on. From your every day race to your classic spar tourny to your game of tactics battle, the fun never stops! You don't have to join Events Team hosted events though. Players are always allowed to go off and explore the world with their friends and host their own unofficial event games. Who knows, you might find an event that the events team doesn't even know about! But the question remains: You got game?
Now what we are looking for
We have just finished an amazing system of organization that should keep staff busy and remove the question of "what can I do?" that often plagues many servers. So we are now looking for all sorts of developers! On Gileada, we don't group everyone by their skill talent but rather look at the whole staff team as a whole family. Because of this, feel free to apply for as many positions as you want if you have more then one talent. Currently this is what we are looking for with each:
- For scripters we expect you to have a wealth of knowledge with the GS2 language. The systematics on Gileada are rather tough so if you wish to help out with scripts, make sure your array of knowledge is very large. Scripters will designing and producing a few systems but will also later be working with the story development tool for Rpg Maker like "programming" of the story mode.
- For graphic artists we are looking for a wide variety of individuals! If you are good with sprites and other typical Graal graphics, feel free to send us some samples of your work so we can see if your style matches ours.
We are also looking for graphics artists that generally are not accepted as "GATs" per-say. These graphic artists should be good with either: non-sprite art work or anime style drawing. I can't go into details what either of these are for but if you have a talent with drawing and want to see if you could actually put it to some use on Graal while other servers don't need that, make sure you still apply!
- For level makers we are looking for people whole will be able to use all custom tilesets. Leveling does involve using our unique overworld type tileset but also will later require using the in-game level editor (for placement of npcs automatically and such). Scripting knowledge is not required at all for this tool. Level makers should also have a good imagination and design sense

.
- For animators we won't be looking to hard as ganis aren't in such a high demand as other areas. Animation does require using custom bodies though and you should have knowledge of what everything does if you were to open a gani in a text editor. Animators with knowledge of scripting (especially particles) are very much welcome (but scripting knowledge is again, not required).
- For sound and music artists we need very few. Almost all the music will be composed and produced by Oinkness but if you show him your stuff and he feels you could help out, we would gladly accept you! Sound artists are a little more in need though as we plan to have a wide variety of environmental and creature sounds. Make sure you don't use copywritten material for either of these jobs as it WILL result in serious trouble to you and your account though! Getting sounds from sound banks will also not be tolerated. Only submit YOUR OWN work.
All staff will also be involved in the design process of the server. Each member is divided up into one of 5 teams of development (for working on different aspects of the server) that each hold regular meetings for figuring out the general course of the team and how it plans to develop things. The last thing (but
certainly not least) we are looking for is maturity. Gileada aims to be a very professional environment and staff fights or childish behavior will be frowned upon.
Another thing to keep in mind: The server IS a private server and thus requires a gold or vip account.
Who can you contact?
You may contact me through any of my handles displayed in my signature. You may also contact oinkness via his aim: "oinkness" or by sending a forum pm to: "oinknessx".

Now here is that screen shot you guys have been waiting for. It's just of a test level using our overworld system. And yes, that IS an image being displayed under tiles (I believe I am the first person to do this on Graal?). But don't worry, islands floating in space won't look like that. I just changed the sea's color to transparent for some fun
Hope you guys enjoy!
Your friendly developer,
- Zero
