A Bulletin Board System?

I was thinking after reading the one regarding a MoTD system, and thought:

We are missing something else...A Bulletin Board!

Now you might be asking "Oh great, a way for people to spam..." Not entirely.

What I propose is for a limit on how many each Kingdom can post up...Like Kingdom News, stuff like that, but most importantly, a list of people the poor little newblets can go running to for recruitment into the kingdoms. Maybe even requirements to get into said kingdoms.

Don't even say they can look at the forum, as I can tell you a large chunk of them don't, nor do they give a flying pigs butt about there being a forum in the first place.

If you think it will destroy Kingdoms, then I'm sorry, I don't even see how it would, as it would be only useful as a message system for the poor noobs to know where to go and such...Then theres the News bit...mostly to set the atmosphere on relations between the Kingdoms.

As for the GFX...I'm sure someone can come up with something.

Don't know what else to put here regarding this, but I hope the staff likes this idea.

Hmmm I had the idea of adding some kingdom announcement tab to the kingdoms gui, it could let the gui sword "blink" when there is a new message on that tab. Kingdom leaders could post plans for events or modifications in the ranks there. It will only be interesting if people read the stuff though / it is really useful.

I really like that idea, but I think it should be available for more then just the king/queen of a kingdom. Maybe the first few ranks so they can talk to the rest of the kingdom and stuff

but yeah, I like the idea

Put some boards up around the kingdoms and bum the bulletin board system script off of 2k1. ;p

Yeah we can try but it won't help. Half the Dustari kingdom members I talk too never even heard of the forums.

Sadly most aren't active anymore...if I can find out where some of the high ranking members went...

This sounds like a good idea ... maybe extend it a little. Several sections/tabs.

More if you could think of them.
Kingdom News would be certain people in kingdoms could change this ... maybe it's a new rank-right that leaders can give out, or maybe attach it to one of the others that already exist. Only important kingdom news can go in there, no spam etc or the person loses the right.
Markets people could post Buying/Selling, maybe, note the MAYBE people could drop their items in there that they want to trade, and have something like main trade, only if you log off it stays there and other people can make an offer on it, you can have more than one offer. When you log back on, you see several offer for item [x] which all users have accepted. You could chose to accept one of them and take their item and they get yours (I believe this can be done with mudlib even if player is offline). Also you could say what you're looking for. If you put your item in markets, it disapears from your inventory. Otherwise, just people post Buying/Selling, like on the forums.
Events people could talk about kingdom events planned (maybe that goes in kingdom news), discuss events that happened, and request events to the EMs.
Other ... basicly like a forum, post anything, people can reply like in all of them ...

Basicly my twist on it.
I love your idea, it could be very useful.
