I am curious about the Graal soundtrack.

Where did this music come from? I've seen a thread from some time ago in which Stefan claims that Unixmad made it, but the "it" is vague. Did Unixmad actually make the music, or just the MIDIs?

Thanks.

I have heard the originals (I think) of some of those songs.

Yeah, I've heard other versions of almost every song on another game. That's why I'm curious about their origins.

I seem to recall Kingdoms was scored by the Wormz guy...Beorn or something like that, Unixmad actually comissioned the incessant MP3age.

All the stef##.mid's? Yeah, coulda swore there was just a thread about that. Every year someone claims something or other was stolen from somewhere else or other, then invariably Unixmad and/or Stefan say they made it and someone stole it from them, or they got it from a Royalty Free Copyright Free Public Archive.

Meh. The original midis were iconic and bouncy enough, some of 'em were even rather good, they just looped too short. Plus the midi instrumentalization was middling - it's Very Midi. If Classic were to get those rescored to MP3 (or with the newer standard of Midi instruments), and expanded the playlist, got some overworld NPCs to control how often the songs were rotated (the Town Playlist instead of the Town Midi, the Forest Playlist, etc.), that could be cool.

'course, then there's always the twin problems of No creative mind is ever willing to COPY something exactly, and If the original turns out to have been improperly uploaded (even to the Public Archive), then the derivative is "Fruit of the poison tree"...
Meh, we got some awesome musicians in the Midi forum, maybe one of them can come up with an Original Reimagining. That'd be cool.
