Just a question;

Like the thread title says, Im curious to know if there will be new Level Editor versions, more advance, and work for other OS, like Mac and Linux and such.

It would be really cool to upgrade the level editor a bit.

Also, would an RC for a handle PC, or a mobile device be any good to RC users?

I do not know if this thread will answer your question, but I remember reading it a while ago.

Also, I do not think an RC on a mobile device would be useful, cause what could you do on it? Idle? Chat? Hm, sounds like a normal RC anyway.

First of all, the thread title doesn't say that. Please be more specific with your thread titles in the future.

Second of all, no. Stefan refuses to port an offline level edtior to Mac and Linux... And he's bent on getting rid of the offline editor all together only to replace it with an online level editor.

For the record: I do not agree with Stefan's plans for the level editor, and I've let him know. If you feel the same please express this to him. In a pleasent manner of course.

A mobile RC wouldn't be very practical, or worth the trouble if you ask me.

This probably should go in the future improvements section of the forums... but since it's about the absence of future versions of an offline level editor I'll leave it here so level makers can discuss the matter.

So has it just been lip service when people have continuously been saying that "yes we're working on editor for OSX and linux, they're just a bit delayed"?

I don't know, I suppose if the online editor will be runnable on mac and linux, thats an improvement for me over the no editor at all. I don't know why the online editor is inferior/superior, so I won't get involved in that argument. To be honest, my only argument these days is that if mac and linux users are going to continue to pay the same as windows players, should we not expect to have atleast...reasonably similar feature options?

One of graal's biggest draws is its fully developing world...unless of course you don't have a PC, then you don't get to participate...

I can't say for sure because I don't know... I suppose it could be possible to script something like this into the online editor with GS2... I agree. The online editor in my opinion will never rival that of the offline editor. When I am bored I open the editor and mess around. I don't want to have to be staff on a server to make levels. Plus alpha or not its bad!

P.S. I think Stefan should get rid of the level maker for user though. Graal should hire a levels team and if people want a server they have to rent them. That way only quality levels will get up and not all these servers with bad levels. You could hire a group of 20 or so people. Based on their skill is the amount of money it cost to rent. Well I like the idea.. =\

I don't feel like quoting!

Stefan could make new version of the GraalOnline Level Editor, but I doubt it will be used for the new scripting engine, because the new scripting engine has an online debugger. Of course, I do understand level makers want to create levels offline, because it's doing work alone and easier than being online. So I'm guessing he might do it.

For the tile layers, that's in the works! I've seen such works and it's quite nice.

Aknts: Levels team? That would defeat the purpose of other people creating levels. It's someone opinion to judge the quality of levels. Each playerworld has a different level quality, some people like it, some people don't like it. That's how it is.

Levels on Graal have basically become an art and restricting the tile editor to staff on online players is outrageous. How do people better themselves? I bet this just one big ploy to make more money, but I doubt it'd work, it'd just decrease sales, if anything.

I think that would be the most anti-graal thing ever...the entire point of graal is self-development, and level editing is an extremely large part of it. I'm gonna definately give a "no, god no, please christ no" to this opinion.

I'm not going online to make levels.


Stefan needs player input on this if he wants it to be successful. Right now it sounds as if its just beneficial for NATs and their "1337TRAINGZONE"
