Graal Kingdoms Storyline

When glancing over Trindras's Storyline in Dustari's forums, I was struck with an idea. The users on Kingdoms could start a dynamic storyline via use of minor events. Trindras, at the moment, is in search of someone in Dustari, whom his father wrote a letter to. Whomever recieves that letter will be responsible for delivering it and continuing the story by passing on another item or the same item to another person, who will do the same thing, and so on. For all who want to participate in this interesting string of events, here are the rules:

1. Do not post unless you have been pulled into the storyline. As great as your character's past or present may have been, side-stories are not necessary.
2. If you are going to post a reply to someone's post, but you're not the next person in line, please do so in OOC brackets. It'll help designate which comments are part of the story.
3. Please don't write nonsensical things, and try to relate it back as much as you can to Kingdom's official storyline. Inter-kingdom squabbles can be griped about elsewhere.
4. Try to make sure that the person you give an item or a task to can somehow get their fragment of the story onto the forums.
5. Have fun, and try not to fight.

Whomever gets Trindras's letter, please make sure to record what you do with it, and how and who you will be passing the storyline onto.

In case you need it, here's the first bit of storyline, reposted:

Trindras Sanreum’s past is a very common one. Raised on a simple farmstead on the mainland with his parents, he lived a pretty normal life. Every day he worked the fields and helped harvest the crops for his parents. Every now and then he’d also chop some lumber, or make new farming tools when they broke.

A simple life by most accounts, his parents were devout followers of Govannon. That’s why they lived simply, and made all their own tools, and worked the land. Nothing they said was more true to his teachings than the way they lived. They didn’t even have any horses to make the work easier and faster. That would be against what they believed.

Once the moon crashed however, and the Bomys became aggressive, they soon found their farm under constant attack. His father was much too old to keep fighting for the farm every day, and as such, Trindras felt it was his time to defend his family’s land.

At first he only had to fight off one or two, so his trusty pickaxe was fine. It wasn’t long before they started coming in packs to try and eat their crops. Running out of options, his parents gave him an old book they had laying around. They told him to pray to Govannon for strength, and to study the book. “The time will come when that prayer will save your life,” said his father.

Only a few hours after his father handed him the book, about a dozen bomys started toward the farm together. Trindras knew the pickaxe would not be enough. He put himself in their sights, read the prayer in the book, and allowed his heart to be filled with the wrath of Govannon. Once the prayer was done, from his hands came Govannon’s wrath in it’s purest form. One by one, the bomys fell, and once the final one fell, Trindras fell to his knees, exhausted.

That night, his father woke him from his rest, with a bowl of warm stew and a hunk of bread. He told him that he had that book because he was once a priest of Govannon, long before Trindras was born. He stopped only because he had met his mother, and wanted to go and start a new life. Trindras thought about this for a while, now confused by a past that he never knew about.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that that path was his as well. It was clear to him that he was blessed, and that Govannon would help him on his way. He told his father of his wishes, and he agreed that the priesthood would be a wise choice. He did however mention that he had some contacts with the kingdom of Dustari, and that it would be the best place for Trindras to study, as well as develop his talents, and learn some new skills, but it would take some time to contact them and try and set up a meeting.

Two weeks passed, and no word from the kingdom of Dustari. His father grew concerned, as usually he’d hear back by now. He decided that he’d send Trindras over to Bomboria with a letter and some platinum pieces they saved to pay his fare on a boat to kingdom of Dustari. Trindras hoped he’d be lucky enough to find someone bearing the symbol of Dustari, so he could show them the letter, and try to join them…

Early in the evening, Archimedes was presented with a strange letter by Captain Solstice Katueu. It had no unusual markings, no official seal, no peculiarities about it whatsoever. It was just simply addressed, "To Padren." He reckognized the name, and tucked the letter into his pocket - still sealed. There was quite a commotion going on in town, as several villagers had gotten into a fight over god-knows-what reason, and it was rather hard for him to get from one side of town to another without getting nearly sliced to bits in the fray. As he was leaving, though, he nearly stumbled over a large vase that was set beside a building. He peered in, and discovered that a young, mildly disheveled boy was hiding inside. The fighting got continually worse, and he beckoned the boy to come inside to safety after they'd made introductions. Trindras remarked that he was in search of Padren; the same person being adressed to in the letter Archimedes recieved.

After learning about who Trindras's father was, he accepted Trindras into the clergy under one condition - since there were no higher athourities in the clergy, he would have to study under two of Dustari's finest mages, Masters Shawn and Edwin. Quickly, Archimedes signed and sealed the Clergy Acceptance Letter, and sent the lad on his way. What influence his coming may have is anybody's guess.

Shawn had just stopped in for a bite to eat at the Misty Mug Tavern, but seemed a bit dismayed at the lack of employees at the time. Not about to go back out into the cold without something to eat, he sat down at one of the tables, and dug through his bag for a bit of jerky. Across from him, was the same young boy that Archimedes had met before.

After a bit of polite conversation, the boy mentioned that he was looking for someone from Dustari. "A Mr. Kelfonne or a Mr. Edwin" he said. Shawn explained who he was, and the conversation turned towards Trindras' ambitions as a member of the clergy. Shawn offered any sort of help he could, answering the questions that the boy had about certain aspects of the faith.

After the nice dinner chat, as Trindras had offered Shawn a nice bowl of stew, Shawn left Trindras with a bit of money and some materials to help him along. Paperwork and looking through tomes for the next big piece of Magic take up a lot of a mage's time, and so with his best wishes, Shawn sent the boy on his way once more.
